I was in the store that sold the Wilson's their winning powerball ticket this morning. It seems that the clerk that sold the ticket was complaining that the Wilson's didn't give a tip or even a thank you to the clerk. Most of the clerks agreed that a million dollar tip would have been the right thing to do. Do you think the winner is obligated to give a tip?

Okay, now I believe you can predict lottery numbers

A tip is supposed to be VOLUNTARY-but I probably would if I were Mr Shue. Do SC agents get a bonus from the lottery?

The owner of the store gets a bonus, but not the employees.

I wouldn't really remember who the store clerk is where I got my ticket, fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on the point of view.) I wouldn't really feel obligated unless there was some other service that they may have done as well (which I really doubt).

besides, people in person would still be afraid to talk to meh, even if I had millions ^^;

If the store clerk said "No, don't do a quick pick, here are some numbers that will win" and I won, then I would tip, otherwise, probably not.

Why is the store clerk complaining about anyway?Isn't it his duty to sell lottery tickets?Anyway,some people just have long eyes for other people money.Let it be done of ones own good will.

I alway give the clerks a big "Thank you" and if they want a "tip", I tell them to play the numbers I'm playing, that way if I win and they don't, I know that they wasted a good tip.

I always give the clerks something when I win over 600.00. I worked in a lottery store before and sometimes the goodness of a customer will pay for gas for the next week or buy some groceries. I always give them something if I win. I feel that punching in lottery numbers is a service type business, too. If the "customer" is too lazy to put the numbers on a card and the clerk is required to input all by hand, to me that deserves some type of gratuity just like waitresses get. You have never had to stand up and punch in $150.00 worth of 50 straight numbers or run 150 numbers straight boxed or punch in someone's 50 selections of PB numbers by hand or get cussed out by some ungrateful customer who swears you are cheating him or her.

If you know your number is going to hit, have patience and then KILL IT!

You never know when you will get another hit.

I tell them ......"Never plant your corn in the Winter time!" LOL
Serious ....... I do tip some to my friend " Wa-Heed" when the win is large enough. He always checks and make sure there are never any mistakes. I don't have to run around to alot of different stores cashing in several tickets either......he takes care of all that at one time for me.

The only real failure .....is the failure to try.

Luck is a very rare thing....... Odds not so much.

i don't feel any "obligation" to anyone, as i never have felt that anybody owed me anything for something i happen to have done for them.
never been into the "keep score" game myself so.............if i choose to, it will be because i want to and not because someone else feels i am obligated to.
....but something i live by is to treat people fairly around me and i will execute that on my terms, not someone elses.

TIP THIS, is what I would say. Hehehe. Seriously, c'mon no one has an obligation to tip and to suggest a million dollar is ludicrous. I will not even be giving family members a million dollars.
