Yes, I am being sarcastic. The lone winner should not show his or her face on TV because everyone wants to see who he or she is? Gee, I hope the person has an answering machine to screen the calls or an unlisted number.
Put yourself in the person's shoes: the person has not come forth because he or she is trying to get his or her financial house in order, or he or she is waiting patiently for the media to ignore him or her. Sometimes, great news flashes will supercede any lottery media attention. You have seen it: you are watching your favorite show and all of a sudden the announcer says: "we interrupt this broadcast to report....!" You say to yourself...now what!
Finally, I would not dare go on TV, and I would tell the lottery officials in New Mexico that I do not want any media attention or my name in the newspaper, period. If I were to call and tell them I have the winning ticket, they would be waiting for me like vultures!
