in a word......... NO
it is a misconception that somehow we are able to change Gods mind by happening upon the right words at the right "time". ....not true. the key to opening up the blessings of God in our lives are NOT relegated to the amount of words or the right "mix" of words. it is only contained in our obedience to him and his personal plan for our lives and how accurate we are in ADJUSTING to his plan.
if we are not "meant to"..... no amount of begging, pleading, scratching, kicking, screaming, crying or an excellant command of the king james english will be able to get God to do something that he does not intend to do in the 1st place.
to think that God is waiting for the right words, comes from the perspective that God is somehow our personal concierge waiting to fill our request slips (lol). again......not true. since he is God (and we are not), we are to serve him and part of serving him is adjusting to his plan as he reveals it and leaving it at that knowing that he will never fail us. he does not "adjust" to us and our "plan(s)".
doesn't mean we don't pray, it just means that instead of always "wanting", we should be having the attitude of what does "HE" want, and then adjust as he reveals what it is that he does.
prayer is simply getting on the "page" that God is already on. because he already knows our need before we even ask or think, God already has a plan in place to fill that need. it is up to us (and not him) to adjust to it. because we as humans can be selfish in our pursuit of God (what can he give me instead of what can i give him), this is where we lose focus and then ultimately hope. our hope lies in the knowledge that a relationship where God is in control of our lives, that we aknowledge his rightful place in our lives, that person(s) will have peace as their friend and no circumstance in life will be able to erode that away. our peace comes from knowing that Gods love and designed provision is enough, no matter what "form" he deals it out to us.
but hey, you never know until you ask and he certainly doesn't mind us asking. he does mind that we faithfully adjust to the answer, especially when it is an answer that we didn't want to hear.
i will be praying for your "peace", as God has already provided a way to meet your needs. find out what it is and adjust to it and you will be fine...
