  " true randomness implies unpredictability. If you have sequence of numbers and you can predict a number in the sequence based on its predecessors, the sequence is not truly random. You can contrast true random numbers with pseudo-random numbers, which like true random numbers

  A problem with testing numbers (or dvents) for randomness is that you typically need large a large data set to perform a meaningful analysis, and that small portions of the data set may seem non-random if examined in isolation. For example, if you flip enough coins, you will dventually get a sequence of 50 heads in a row. Viewed in isolation, that sequence will appear non-random (and highly predictable), but as part of the greater whole, it will be completely random

  I agree fully when true randomness is concerned. But, the question is wether the theoretical true randomness exists as a reality in our world.

  The universe didn't just happen to be, just like that, it was not a randon dvent, no matter what most people think, what appears to be and what it is are two diferent things, the true nature of the universe and of all things in this universe is not random, there are random elements, because of the nature of the pre-universe, which was random and this is the reason for the universe, but in esense or whatever the word is, the universe is not random, to a given extent it appears to be to those of us who don't know any better (sorry for those who will get offended), there is a reason and laws for everthing that there is, was and will be, nothing ever happens just to happen or for the hell of it, for every action there is always a reaction, brought by the preceding action(s), there are immutable laws, physical, chemical and spiritual that govern everthing and will keep on doing so untill they are changed by whoever put them in motion when ever it did. It being a being or in other words "I am that I am" No name.

  Whenever we don't know the rules that apply to a given dvent, then we say that such dvent is random and or happens in a random way, but that is our particular point of view as we see things and not what really is.

  We can also say that rain and air are random, but they happen for specific reasons and are governed by given laws, such as air pressure, temperature, maybe the influence of the moon and sun and or whatever, but they are anything but random dvents, but to us they do appear to be completely random and as random as anything can ever be.

  Looks are deceiving.

  The less that we know, the more that the universe appears to be out of control, to "GOD" nothing or very few things are random compared to us.
