Best of Both Worlds

Why play your own numbers or all quick picks when you can get the best of both worlds. Yesterday, I did just that. After taking my own advise of not wait till the last minute, I but 2 tickets for wednesday Powerball drawing early. Only to realize I didn't play my intuitive picks. I thought I try selecting my own picks and have the machine pick the rest fof the numbers.

I tried have the machine pick the rest of the numbers for me the first week of playing Powerball, But the cashier told me it can't be done. I never tried it again. Only after reading about it here on LP forums a week ago did I know it was even posssible (And it only took me a year). What else don't I know?

I always thought it would improve my chance of winning if I could play my likely numbers and some numbers I didn't have any inputs on. I hope this would eliminate my own bais picks and I plan to use it to my advantage.

Intuition

I am contemplating how much intution can aid me when picking the right numbers. I finally decided on a $20 bet for last saturday's drawing instead of the initial $11. It was good and bad at the same time. Good because playing more numbers helped in the inclusion of red powerball number. This was the only number I got correctly out of 20 line for a $3 refund. Bad because if I played $11, I would have lost all $11 instead of $17. But a win is a win in my book.

My intutions where to play 43, 13, and 30 and 55. 55 because it was the new number that has made an appearance. I went for 7 16 18 in most of my numbers. I end up with 20 lines and 24 numbers total. I didn't get 2 White balls in one line but I had 4 of 24 numbers overall.

The red powerball selector came through again. Too bad I was $17 down the hole. Good thing is there was a lesson in there. Next time I hope to use the wheel. It will make my choices more intuitive.

I good day to think of the children, education, the cause etc.

It makes a lot of sense. Usually, once I add some new numbers to my spreadsheet, I outright develop what numbers I think would come up. It is usually right and I always regret not going on my intutions because by the end of the day, I've reworked the entire thing and usually end up creating a monster.

$2 for wednesday I say, for now at least.

Patience is My Virtue

At least I know what the excitement is all about. I managed to get all 5 numbers out of my 18 numbers but wasn't able to match 3 numbers in one line for a win. Although I was excited when I watched the drawing that all my numbers have been drawn, I had my doubts. I thought I could have managed a 3 + 0, but no luck. No luck with the powerball either but my PB generator was accurate. Too bad I powerball, else those five extra lines would have put me right on the money.

So far so good. I was prepapare with a contigency plan.

How long am I gonna be circling the good stuff? One of these days I am gonna hit the bull's eye.

$11 for Saturday. let's see if I can win something.

I Guess I Should Be Blogging, huh?

I convinced myself that I should start blogging an hour ago.

Things are getting pretty slow on this site - Or is it old? But whatever it is, things have gradually changed. Powerball is at $108M but no one seems excited about it. I wouldn't blame them. It might just be jackpot fatigue. I experinced that myself. It is more like being broke when you needed to be spending more. Well, I am definitely staying away from that. It is going to be a strict $1 bet till the jackpot gets to around $70M. I found this to be advantageous because you play all your best numbers on one line and can really make some good calls. Besides after a big jackpot like this, it restarts at a tiny jackpot.

Not to say that I am less bit excited about tonights drawing. I have be anticipating the drawing. I can't say why exactly. But I got my tickets yesterday. At first, I wanted to play 3 lines as usually. After letting the number sit for a while, I then reviewed it. I made some key changes as replacing the 8s in the 2 lines and a change to the 3rd line. It was exciting and I wanted to go with 19 as PB for all three lines. I slowly changed my mind. I felt it was put all my eggs in one basket.

After a general feel of the number progress, I felt a need to add 2 extra lines and play it safe by spreading my PB numbers across the range to include most of the decades.

My Powerball Progress Chart seems it might be quite handy. It has made some good calls in the last few draws but I am yet to hit with it. The WB prediction is just way off. I can't wait until I can fairly test it and adjust it.

I haven't had a winning ticket in at least 2 months. I made an observation which invoked memories of an old friend I had to play. I just need to remember to play it for 10 straight drawings at least.

At the end I bought 5 lines with powerplay. I figured at least I will get the PB and get some return on $10.
