An Unusual Cover of Sultans of Swing

Published:

Updated:

I've seen some unusual instruments used in covers, but never before have I seen a Gayageum, a traditional Korean zither-like string instrument. Check out more from Luna Lee on her YouTube channel for other covers.

You'd have to admit, she's got Seoul.

Thanks Mike, this is a most refreshing musical note-
When iast in pre-riot Korea Town Los Angeles, I had the honor to be invited to a performance that had featured this zither type instrument .
Great sound & adaptation & arrangement with Western music - lots of fun!

This is one of my favorite rock tunes and I had seen several covers of it before. I particularly enjoy AC/DC covers and have seen some really unusual ones, from bluegrass to classical.

Was LA's Korea Town destroyed? I will have to go read up about it.

I subscribe to several different YT food channels and one - Zagat - has been featuring Korean food this last couple of weeks.

Agreed great tune delivered superbly

The disastrous riots of '92 were terrorizing for LA but particularly terrorizing for the Korea town 25 years ago that was savagely attacked when they without warning, without provocation, racially attacked by black males in the Los Angels riot- not one emergency police, fire or ambulance call responded. This did not stop until the cavalry (marines) finally arrived & put down the insurrection that the city & state disgrace fully could or would not. We were there eyewitness' @ ground zero. Television report transmissions were clinically cleaned up, so public did not get whole picture of this tragedy . In one incident I had to step between motorized gang bangers and my neighbors with a pistol being pointed at my head. It was heart braking to experience.💔 Although some American Koreans had to arm themselves for self defense, most kept a stoic silence

The community deserves justice & compensation dereliction of duty & cowardice in the face of the marauding enemy from within. I have lived through 3 riots, this was the worst travesty of inhumanity & justice I have ever witnessed in America

Now Going beyond shusi :-)

Mike, if you like the sound of oriental instruments with big band flavor check out Tak Shindo, Japanese American Brass & Bamboo exotic blending of of authentic arrangements of similar multi string koto instrumentation with Western brass - really swings with Far East accents
