The earth is...breathing. Trees 'breathe' under a forest floor

Thanks Moon-
A most fascinating phenomenon captured on video and knowing our earth is alive, it seems to make sense as all living things require oxygen to be sustainable.

Good find; do wonder where else the visual evidence is appearing???

Boy I hate to be the party pooper, what you are seeing is the roots be lifted by high winds, most tree roots grow out , not down, couple months ago we had a bad wind storm here in Michigan, my husband and I watched the same thing in our backyard. we had a 40 foot pine tree uproot and get stuck in a silver maple. Was really cool until the tree got ripped up.
Tall pines are usually the first to up root, very shallow roots that are spread out.

Interesting video but agree with Sully. Majority of conifers (evergreens) have shallow pancake type roots which do not form any sort of taproot to keep the tree stabilized. Those trees are coming unglued from their anchor into the earth. After being semi uprooted, roots become susceptible to drying health and stability of the trees are seriously compromised long term.
