Novel about the lottery
Published:
The Winner by David Baldacci.
Not accurate,un this story the lottery is a pick 10, but quite a read.
One newspaper reporter in the book thinks the lottery us designed to destroy the winners.
The lottery in the book is a national lottery with one bug drawing a month, 12 winners a year.
The reporter insists that 9 of 12 winners declare bankruptcy every year but then discovers a year where none of them did,
Prior to this there's a character in the book that picks the people to win...they agree to go along or he has them killed.
Comments
Sadly lottery has surpassed all games combined as the national past time
Author makes an arguable case, based on statistics, about the destruction of winners and bye the bye lets not forget the losers where many are getting $5 & $10 ticket (nickel & dimed) slowly to death :-(.
