Sgt. Bergdahl's Sentence May Be Lighter Because of Trump's Comments

In sentencing, mitigating factors weigh in favor of leniency while aggravating factors tip the scales toward harsher punishment. The judge’s decision means he will weigh Mr. Trump’s comments along with other mitigating factors presented by the defense, including evidence that Sergeant Bergdahl had a severe mental disorder and suffered torture in captivity.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. — Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl was dishonorably discharged from the Army by a military judge on Friday, but received no prison time, for desertion and endangering troops, ending a drama that began more than eight years ago in war-torn Afghanistan.

At the sentencing hearing, the military judge, Col. Jeffery R. Nance of the Army, also reduced Sergeant Bergdahl’s rank to private and required him to forfeit $1,000 a month of his pay for 10 months.

Trump's biggest problem is that he just does not know his job description and the separation of powers. The Judicial System has separate but equal power than that of the Executive Branch. He can't dictate to the Judicial Branch his wishes for a verdict for a given trial. Many of the recent rulings against Trump is being done because of Trump's mouth. Only a fool would bad mouth the branch of government that is investigating them.

For all the novices out there a dishonorable discharge is very serious.

If someone is dishonorably discharged from the military they are not allowed to own firearms according to US federal law. Military members who receive a Dishonorable Discharge forfeit all military and veterans benefits and may have a difficult time finding work in the civilian sector.

Yes, this is very, very bad. But, considering that he put his fellow soldiers directly in harm's way, and they were actually harmed, he got away cheaply. The long term effects of this judgement are what will get him down the road because no one will have sympathy for him even though it's reported that he suffered mental issues. I'm pretty sure that Trump having voiced his LEGAL opinion AS POTUS via TWITTER (sigh), it had some bearing on the outcome....which favored Bergdahl.

**Trump has absolutely no problem attacking any and everyone, even Gold Star families, but HE STILL OUTRIGHT REFUSES TO ATTACK VLADIMIR PUTIN. People had better get off of that weak @ass DECAF and get on some strong DARK ROAST...WITH NO CREAMER OR SUGAR.

Now that I've addressed Trump's utter and long-running, consistent hypocrisy with how he picks on 'soft targets', I'm gonna address how he also KNOWS EXACTLY WHEN TO KEEP HIS LYING AND FILTHY MOUTH SHUT WHEN IT'S EXPEDIENT FOR HIM. Speedy, didn't my black @ass just illustrate how Trump recently made a complete @ss of himself regarding the Diversity Visa Lottery Program after the New York attack?? For all the novices out there, (cut me some slack, Speedy. LOL!!), that program entails bringing people in from other countries via a lottery pool. Well, look at what our POTUS just did:

-As employers use more foreign workers, Trump wins 70 visas for Mar-a-Lago-

Speedy, this is the same man that tells HIS BASE to USE AMERICAN, BUY AMERICAN....AND HIRE AMERICAN.

'Nuff said.
