"Conscience of a Conservative" (book) by Barry Goldwater

In 1960, Barry Goldwater set forth his brief manifesto in The Conscience of a Conservative. Written at the height of the Cold War and in the wake of America's greatest experiment with big government, the New Deal, Goldwater's message was not only remarkable, but radical. He argued for the value and importance of conservative principles--freedom, foremost among them--in contemporary political life. Using the principles he espoused in this concise but powerful book, Goldwater fundamentally altered the political landscape of his day--and ours.

If only he had beaten Comrade Lyndon in 1964 history would have been so different.

He was in an interview with a leftist reporter and the reporter, trying to trap him asked a very slanted question about the POWs in North Viet Nam.

Goldwater on hearing the question told the reporter to stop right there and said had he been president there would have no longer been any North Viet Nam.

What a great honor to have a meet & greet opportunity with a true American Knight, CARBOB -

A short but fascinating story that was reported to me from the Test Sight, seems that after the Roswell incident happening - all possible extraterrestrial crash evidence was quickly gleaned up and put away in secret storage @ an air base out of State. Well when General Goldwater happen to visit that air base, he took upon himself to inquire about where the stuff was stashed, with the initially friendly base commander, and to his surprise the meeting instantly got cold as the commander ordered (paraphrasing) that Goldwater was never repeat anything of the meeting nor comment of the subject ever again :-(

So the base commander didn't want to say it all went to Wright-Patt!
