Man Opens Fire On Victim In Traffic: Walnut Creek

Police say the victim was stopped in the left turn lane when a man walked up to the vehicle and opened fire.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A person sitting in traffic in Walnut Creek was shot Monday afternoon, according to Walnut Creek Police. The victim is hospitalized in stable condition. No arrests have been announced.

 

Police were notified of the shooting at the intersection of Homestead Avenue and Ygnacio Valley Road shortly before 5 p.m.

 

According to a release signed by Chief of Police Thomas Chaplin, "The victim was stopped in his vehicle on Homestead Ave. in the northbound left turn lane at Ygnacio Valley Rd. While stopped, an adult Hispanic male suspect approached on foot and fired multiple shots into the victim's vehicle with a handgun."

 

The suspect is described as an Hispanic man, approximately 25 years old, around 5'5 with an average build, a low-cut haircut, and a mustache.

The release continues, "Based on preliminary information, investigators believe this is an isolated incident and do not believe there is an active threat to the community."

Nearby streets were closed for about two hours following the shooting as police conducted their investigation. If you have any information that will help solve this case, call Detective Leonard at 925-256-3523.

And the idiots in the leftist press are trying to downplay the fact that violent crime is heavily on the rise. Guess why? Pizzing on the police, allowing BLM rioters, etc. :-(
