Carded for purchasing Power Ball tickets.
Published:
And not just carded; the clerk wanted to scan my "proof of age". I looked them right in their eyes and asked "do you really believe I'm not at least 18?". They said it was the "store policy" to check everyone so I said "no thanks" and went to another store without even asking why they wanted to scan my drivers licence to buy lottery tickets at the counter when I could get the same tickets at one of their two kiosk machines.
Not worth arguing or questioning why because there are many other stores and most have a Kiosk machine. Heard clerks asking for ID for purchasing beer or cigarettes, but first time for wanting to scan my ID.

Was carded when I cashed pick-4 tickets, but that was to fill out a W-2G.
* Have yet to read of the outcome of that case where the father sent his underage son to purchase a scratcher which turned out to be a $5mil winner. The lottery at that time refused to pay the money. Happened in S California years ago.
