Is History repeating?

The current "Make Russia Great Again" movement is reminding lots of Historians of when the National Socialist German Worker’s Party started the "Make Germany Great Again" movement 100 years ago. The number of Woodrow Wilson's Fourteen Points that were ignored and the terms in the Treaty of Versailles are debatable, but in 1935, two years after Adolph Hitler was named Chancellor, Germany began rebuilding its military.

Was annexing Crimea similar retaking the Rhineland? Is deploying Russian troops in the Ukrainian breakaway republics similar to the Nazi division of Czechoslovakia in 1939? Will the ghost of Neville Chamberlain be photographed holding the "Peace for our Time" Munich Pact? Will the entire World be at war by next year?

Won't speak for everyone, but I'm too old to practice "duck and cover" again.

*Was surprised to read that Putin needed to get the Greenlight from his Congress to go ahead with the invasion. Wars are not cheap & l think he may regret that move, but hey- l am no politician.

Russia will suffer just like everyone else when the economy tanks so unless his goal is destroying his country too, Putin is now trying to be the World's dumbest leader.

Hopefully the WWI history won't repeat, but if some of the NATO members have a pact with Ukraine to defend them, it could really hit the fan.

"Secretary of State Antony Blinken said it is obvious Russian President Vladimir Putin has goals beyond Ukraine and may have other countries in his sights".

It's starting look Putin's ultimate goal is to reunite the Soviet Union.

Maybe history isn't repeating this time because it's starting to look like the Russian people are wondering if Vlady might have fallen and hit his head.
