Test # 2, The Jackpot Games (PB & MM)

Published:

Updated:

The next round of testing will begin Monday (9/11) with the Power ball and end on Saturday(9/16), also with the power ball.

There are actually 3 games involved, the Mega Millions, The Power ball, and PA's Power Ball Double Play (a separate game with a separate draw history, also a different prize payout... no multiplier and top prize always $10M)

Since you MUST enter a draw into the main PB game, there will be 2 picks for each powerball draw. Adding the multiplier and double draw entry fee, that means both picks are eligible for prizes in both games. For the purpose of this test, results will be separated, so the first line only counts for the main game, and the second only counts for the double draw. Any coincidental payouts won't count.

2 tickets loaded with options for the power ball is a cost of $8

The Mega Millions with the megaplier is a cost of $3

Total System Test Cost = $30 across 3 PB and 2 MM draws. Test duration = 6 days. Pick Method = My Super Seven Python follower script described in detail in earlier blog posts.

The Goal = A hit or combination of hits that exceed the test cost of $30.

The expectation... it is all coincidental anyway, the realistic expectation is that I donate $30 to "Older Pennsylvanians"

Unlike the last test, this only has to work once!

First crack at the powerball was a wash... matched 2+0 on the main game,
matched 1+0 on the double play.

The powerball pick I had for the main game, 22, was picked and that pays $7, but it does not count... so test to date
Cost $8
Won 0
Net loss -$8

The 9/12 MegaMillions pick had 0+0
Total cost to date = $11
Total won = $0
Net loss = - $11

Getting ready to drop another $8 on the Power Ball for tonight's draw.

I am thinking maybe ALL 7 sets of follower data should be combined into a mega list and the pick taken from there, but I need to figure out how to code that, so no changes to the system for the remainder of the test.

Better news on the Friday Mega Millions draw. Picked up 1 + 1 with a 3 megaplier for $12!

This was the line I played...
8, 15, 29, 42, 68 + 25

Total cost to date = $22
Total won = $12
Net loss = - $10

Unofficial net loss is -$3. Set to drop $8 more to wrap up the test for tomorrow's PB...

I am holding onto that $12 winner to get 2 more "bonus" draws... PB monday and MM tuesday.
Bought the PB tickets for tonight bringing the total spent to $30.

Not a single number in either the PB or the double play. So we end this test.

Total cost $30
Total winnings $12
Net loss $18

Over all not horrible, I was in on 5 drawings. (Plus 3 double play drawings)

The $12 will go toward playing the next draw of the PB/DP monday and the MM tuesday.

The verdict... just as good as any other method used to pick a single line (including QP).

Not sure of the next use outside of the next jackpot games... maybe it is time to shut it down until the backtest is complete for the pick3/4/5, which is what the system was designed for.
