my keno strategy

Published:

i wont go into the details of exact amounts and odds etc. but here is my play method for our local keno.

when u play the lower spot games, you get a lower payout, but the odds of winning that payout are better.

i decided  over 10 years ago to start on the lowest avail here, a spot 2 that paid $12 for hitting 2/2.

if i won well and good, i would play until the point where if i win $12 i win just my bet back ie $12.

then i would up my odds to the spot 3  that paid  $2 for 2 of your 3 and $32 for 3/3

once again if i won i would go back to spot 2, if i lost a TOTAL of $32, i would up it to spot 4.

spot 4 pays 3/4   $8  and 4/4 $120, I only won that once,

anyhow i wont bother you with the details of ea spot suffice to say i just update to spot 7, and have lost a cummalitive total of $1400 in the 10 plus years.  the other day I won the 6/7 on spot 7 and took a  $200 win. if htere was 1 mor enumber I would have collected $8k and beeen in a nice profit. o well, this pits me back to below $1300 loses, whic is the break point for spot 6.

so now I am playing a spot 6 ea day , or a few spot 6's depnding on how many $1 coints i have when i leave the store.

i have about $90 to go to i hit the break even point on spot 6, of $1300 so wish me luck.

I am getting a little worried that the longer thois carries on the less likely i will ever be to win my losses back, but i see it as  a savings plan. one where i never know when i get to withdraw my money.

I have won a $500 prize, and that put some winnings in my pocket, usually the $2 prizes go straight back into tickets.

Im guessing overall , im about $450 down, but the small wins when the accounting resets to zero is usually spent as drinking money. If i ever get to the spot 8 lvl thats a $50k prize and i dont ever expect to spend that much. even in another 20 years.

my ploy seemed to work fine for a few years always taking out small wins and starting again, but eventually i imagine the house odds work against me. Istill play the occaisonal other ticket, like a spot 10 or a spot 5. even a spot 2 if i just need a handy $12 and i only have $2 in my pocket.

i used to play same numbers all the time., but now i just play a quick pick. i had a disaster when i was at a meal with mum and sis and i was going interstate. I didnt buy my usualy $5 tickets and my fave numbers came up during the meal, I stopped playing regular numbers then.

i really cut back on keno in latest year, i prob only played $100 in last 10 months. and am onto spot 7 now

i really need to track my expenses more , this is around 1300 to $8kfor a spot 8 , so i have to keep counting for $6700 bets. i need a small pencil and a note paper for my wallet. this will be a few long years to get to losing $8k

yeah marcie this play method isnt to start with aspot 10 its to start with spot 3 or 4, and when u win just start counting your bets again, im at spot 7 now a $6k win if i hit it, its just hard to keep track of how much i spend, also i dont seem to hang around bars wher ei used to play keno a lot., so my betting is gtting way less frequent.
liek in the last 3 months ive prob only spent $20 on keno, all spot 7.

ill make a assumption that ive wagered $1500 and try to keep an accurate account from now on.

but yeah marcie it isnt for starting on spot 10, thats the end game, in 20 years time of losing on keno,

ive rolled over the $1300 bet mark and am closer to 1500 now, its spot 7 all the way till $8000 spent. that should take a few years. hopefully i win it before to long and can start back at spot 1. cuz htis throwing money and hardly ever seeing any return back is kind of sucky.
i looked at my note in pocket , for $50 spent in last month i had $5 return in wins also spent back onto keno.
i will tone it down to $1 bought when ever im at a lotto terminal buying my tickets for lotto.

well my keno strategy paid off, well kind of, i won $1300 today , on a spot 6, i know i said i play spot 7 but that is really hard.
i stuck to my old numbers ive played from spot 5 and spot 6., and thought to sellf

hmm if i win spot 6 in only $200 in the hole.
the card i used to enter wasnt marked correctly and the lady behind bar says , if you want to , ill give you a quick pick.
i thought about it , and said, nay ill fill out another card.
I could have played that, i only planned on playing $2 there, but instead i waited for that draw; that i hadnt entered. and saw non of my numbers came out.
hallelujah after all these years im back to $200 down and can either play spot 4 for $120, or spot 5 for $500.

wow its been a while playing between blogs. a lot of keno over last year., most of it losing. the loses till end of july are. $988. over $1k bt end of aug, closer to $1100, if i dont get a nice hit.
also ive been playing spot 10 for sems ages as the jackpot has risen over last 3 months to $1.7 mill.
here its a lump sum and tax free. so its really worth winning. as bank interest is %5.7 the interest earned would be $96k a year, after taxes, would be $54.5k. or if in a trust/ $74.5k. ahh i like dreaming

well for some reason the tax calk i was using   freeked out. i did wonder why the personal tax was so high. its actually $74k after tax, for personal or business taxesthe break point is more like $150k income a year
