So you want to stay at war forever?

When war ends, there is a winner and a loser.

Govt. subsidized healthcare is an eternal, unending, bottomless, unfunded pile of $h1T, that we and our childrens' children will pay for..........forever.

There will be no winners.   Everyone will lose.

Jarasan - you already know this, but I'll write it anyway.   The same protests protesting against a government run health care program were common when FDR tried to pass Soc Sec. Even worse were the cries that Medicare would ruin America.   There are very, very few people who would give up one or both of these 100% government run programs.

Also, we aren't just one of the only industrialized countries that does not provide health care to its citizens, but THE only one. All these cries that a Public Option is fascism, communism, socialism or whatever the ism of the say is must also accuse other countries like France, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Sweden, etc., etc. of being dictatorships. Our government is definitely corrupt and has been for years. After all, most of those in Congress who are fighting any program that will lower the profits of the drug companies or insurers received money from lobbyists, in some cases millions.

"Everyone will lose" you say?   Apparently you don't think the man with cancer I just spoke to yesterday whose premiums doubled last year is important. After all, he'll probably die anyway.

"Protests protesting?" Oy! Sorry about my poorly written post You can tell I'm emotional about this. But who cares about my life, right?   By the way, as long as I'm writing this, let me show you another way we can save billions.   Cut out the waste and the fraud. Let's stop variable pricing for the same procedure. The same heart operation that costs $40,000 when paid for by Medicare costs twice as much if you have private insurance.

I've got another one - let's stop paying for the benefits of those government officials who are against providing benefits to the same people who voted for them.

I also keep hearing from those opposed to a public option that all the doctors will quit. Although over 63% (according to a New England School of Medicine surgery) of doctors are for a public health plan, especially single-payer, let's say that statement were partly true. Where would they go to practice? McDonalds?   They certainly couldn't move to any other civilized country on this planet and make the same money they do in the United States.

How are weapon makers supposed to make a decent living, if peace goes to breaking out all over the place? War is a racket, and a very profitable one.

The people that protested "back then" were correct, Social Security has been raped by the Feds. for "other" programs. Medicare and Medicaid are already in place and provide the leveling of procedure costs, they just need to fix the fraud. You know, submitting false requests for payment.

Anything the Feds get their dirty money grubbing bureaucratic hands into is doomed to to turn into a nightmare for those it "said" it is intended to help.   What makes any person with common sense think that this time it is going to work is in fantasy land. The f'ing a$$h01e senators voted yesterday to "NOT" allow the American peoples to view the entire bill 72 hrs. prior to voting on it! The govt. is out to perpetuate itself and its cronies............. it is no longer concerned about the people that it was "designed to serve" 233 years ago.

The government has morphed/legislated itself into a blood sucking parasite and we the people are the host. Free health care is but another decorator carrot being dangled before us.
