Tax Saving Ending This Year
Published:
From a newsleter:
Gifts for family
One of the most important of the opportunities that will disappear is the ability to make tax-exempt gifts to family members of up to $5, 120,000.
On January 1, 2013 this tax exemption amount drops to only $1 million.
What that means, in effect, is if you have a significantly sized estate, you now have an opening to pazss down some of the estate to your family without having to give a large share of it to the government.
Starting next year, estate and gift taxes kick back in, with rates rising as high as 55%.

Granted not a problem to most people, but if you did get lucky and hit a jackpot.............
