I didn't watch the whole video but I feel very bad for the treatment of animals in slaughter farms. I especially don't like how they throw male baby chicks onto a conveyor belt that takes them into a grinder while still alive. That's should be outlawed with no exceptions. I've watched countless videos on YT of the unfair treatment of animals waiting to be slaughtered.

I have to admit that I do love meat and hope there was a better and more humane way to kill the animals, and even that thought is still overpowering to me because I do love animals very much. As humans we do have canine teeth so I believe we were meant to eat meat, but the demand to meet the population's hunger for meat has gotten out of control as far as the methods used to deliver that meat to the masses. It reminds me of that twilight Zone episode called "the cookbook" or whatever it was called.

This whole mass killing is very unnerving, but I guess the old adage that If I had to kill an animal myself, I'd probably end up as a vegetarian" may have some truth to it.

The world is filled with many problems, so this is just one on a long list of them. I don't have the answers, but I believe that at this rate, if something out of this world doesn't take control of the many problems we have on this planet, then we as humans are facing extinction soon. I always try to be positive, but reality is what it is. Karma works not just on a personal level, but in general.

@onlymoney: Thanks for your thoughtful and insightful response. I agree with almost all you wrote and felt the same as you about the issue for years. However, I've become convinced that even though our canines are somewhat larger than the surrounding teeth, our stomachs and intestines have evolved to work better without meat and dairy products. I experienced dramatic improvements in cholesterol, BP, etc, after giving up meat and dairy, and my BMI is now 22. When's the last time your mouth watered at the sight or smell of fresh road kill? If you were a true full carnivore, it probably would! :-)

For me, knowing I'm helping reduce misery among less privileged creatures and improving the planet's health are bonuses to making the switch.
