Walkin

I stopped working in the fall of 2008 when the crash hit. Was into home and light commercial trade. Since 2008 I have not done much except for a little physical activity now and then. Mow lawn, light maintenance around the house, built a couple things in the garage. Did not do much walking except for errands here and there. Couple weeks ago I decided I better do something as my legs were becoming weak, muscles stiffening up, hips ached when walking and I was gaining weight.
So I decided to do a walk in the am and pm. Started out at about 4/10 mile for awhile. Leg muscles and hips ached but done the walks just the same. Over the two week or so span I am up to a mile in am and pm. Soreness and hip aches starting to go away. The past few days I have started stretching of ligament exercises in legs as well as muscle exercises.
My weight has started going down, digestive system has improved and my energy level has improved. Before retiring, my legs, back and arms always had good muscle strength but was lacking in that six pack abs department. I will work on rebuilding muscle strength and do something about the abs. Looked up and found a few exercises for ab building.
The last couple years my doctor for yearly check up was not too happy about the weight gain. I will be satisfied with a thirty pound weight loss.
