More Reid stupidity...
Published:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Thursday that, if House Republicans would pass comprehensive immigration reform, the economy would add more jobs.
Reid made the comments after a June jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics found the economy added 288,000 jobs last month. Reid said that number would have been better if the Senate's immigration reform bill had become law.
"Comprehensive immigration reform would have added an average of 121,000 more jobs per year over the next 10 years," Reid said. "Unfortunately, House Republicans, under the influence of the Tea Party, refused to bring it up for a vote. Their refusal is costing our economy added growth that we need."
The Senate passed a bipartisan immigration reform bill last year, but Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) has said he would not bring any immigration reform legislation to the House floor this year.
"Over a year ago, the Senate passed bipartisan, comprehensive immigration reform. It is time immigration policies focus on the needs of citizens: harsh fines for employers of illegal aliens, e-verify required and enforced within 12 months, visa tracking with deportations for overstaying, immediate deportations for those caught at the border (no trial needed) and administrative deportations for all interior illegal alien contacts (no trial needed). Finally, the US must end chain migration and birthright citizenship. Australia did it in 2007, New Zealand in 2006, Ireland in 2005, France in 1993, and the United Kingdom in 1983.
To be honest, we need to cut legal immigration by 50%. Considering black unemployment is at 14%, black youth unemployment at 40% and 20.5% underemployment for black families, Obama's push to flood America with 4 million immigrants per year on top of rewarding the 12-20 million illegal foreign nationals already here is an insult to Americans of every race.
