A single player has won the $37.5 million grand prize from the latest drawing of the Illinois State Lottery's Lotto game.

The only ticket to match all six winning numbers from Monday night's drawing was sold at a store in Freeport, a city about 30 miles west of Rockford.

The grand prize for Wednesday night's Lotto drawing will be $2 million.

In addition to the grand prize winner, 31 players matched five of the six winning numbers from Monday night's drawing good for second prizes of $933 apiece.

Another 1,601 players matched four of the six and will receive third prizes of $32.50.

The winning numbers from Monday night's drawing were: 2, 14, 24, 34, 40 and 49.

You're not happy with $57.50? How much money did you spend. I think you may want to call GA, because 57 bucks is a pretty big haul.

Lotto South has hit $20 million.  In fact in early Feb it got to $21 million before it was hit.

http://www.lotterypost.com/game/44/jackpot If you click here you will see the highest jackpot was $22 million.  I agree that's not a lot but Lotto South really needs to expand. (Which I think they'll be doing soon in the states of LA,SC, and TN).  When it expands I would say they will change the matrix and jackpots may end up in the $40 million area.  Just gotta wait and see.

Yes JimmySand... I'm used to matching 4/5 in Illinois Little Lotto, BEFORE they changed it to 39 numbers.  When it was just 30 numbers, I usually matched 4/5 about 6 times a year, and those payouts were in the $250-500 range.  I spent $5 a day on it.

So, ya I'm a little greedy!

Lately I've been pushing for a larger Lotto South matrix even without expanding to a fourth state.
