Illinois Lottery: One ticket wins $4 million Illinois lottery jackpotSix numbers on a ticket sold from Casey's General Store in Mackinaw, Illinois, will bring a tremendous change to the life of one individual.
As of Sunday afternoon, the person who purchased the winning ticket to the $4 million Illinois Lottery jackpot had not come forward.
"We don't know who it is of or if they even know, but we're excited." Casey's clerk Patty Wilson said.
The only ticket from Saturday's drawing that matched all six numbers - 10,19, 38, 39, 42 and 49 - was purchased, possibly Friday night, as a Quick Pick, or computer-generated ticket, at the Mackinaw store.
"We can't wait to hear the good news from someone. I would think they would hold on to the ticket until they could claim it," clerk Denise Risinger said. "We're making sure everyone knows the winning ticket was sold here."
Risinger rushed to double check her Lotto ticket after hearing the store sold the winning ticket, but hers matched only two of the six numbers. She said the whole town is buzzing with excitement over the winning ticket.
In addition to the grand prize winner, 27 players matched five of the six winning numbers from Saturday night's drawing and will receive second prizes of $1,083.50 apiece. Another 1,413 players matched four of the six - good for third prizes of $37.50 apiece.
The winner has one year from Saturday to claim the prize money and 60 days to decide whether to receive the winnings in a lump sum or as a 26-year annual annuity. The lump-sum payment is generally equivalent to 51 percent of the full jackpot.
Casey's General Stores Inc. should also receive a bonus for selling the winning ticket.
The chance of winning Saturday's jackpot was 1 in 10,179,260.
