Winning $125M Mega Millions ticket sold in New Jersey
Mega Millions: Winning $125M Mega Millions ticket sold in New Jersey
Lottery officials said the winning ticket from Tuesday night's Mega Millions lottery drawing — worth $125 million — was sold in New Jersey. It was not immediately known what town in New Jersey the winning ticket was sold. In addition to the grand prize winner, eight tickets matched all five numbers but not the Mega Ball number: 3 from California, 1 from Georgia, 1 from Maryland, 1 from New York, 1 from Texas, and 1 from Virginia. Each second prize ticket is worth $250,000, except the California tickets, which are worth $222,267 each. California uses a pari-mutuel payout system, unlike the other eleven Mega Millions states, which use fixed prize amounts for each non-jackpot prize. Another 53 tickets matched four numbers, plus the Mega Ball number for a third prize worth $10,000. Seven of those third prize tickets were sold in California, and are worth $9,803 each. A complete list of prizes, as well as each of the California payout amounts, can be found at the USA Mega drawing information page, located at http://www.usamega.com/mega-millions-drawing.asp?d=7/22/2008. The winning numbers from Tuesday night's drawing were: 2, 16, 23, 29 and 32. The Mega Ball number was 46. The Texas Megaplier was 4.

All low numbers for the five white balls. Congrats to the winner! "No one remembers the person who almost climbed the mountain, only the person who eventually gets to the top."

Do you know if it was a QP? I'm happy for the winner(s) and hope there was a group who won all that money. 10 people would be nice.
I can't even get 5 numbers in the Florida 5/36 game, so I can't imagine the excitement the winner must feel. Imagine signing onto LP and seeing your numbers on your computer screen. I think I'd pass out.

All low numbers for the five white balls. Congrats to the winner! Can you explain what you mean a little more? White balls were 02-16-23-29-32, so I'm seeing 3 low and 2 high.

I guess they weren't all technically low numbers, but since the set was all under 32, I feel it was a low number set. I guess I can't really explain it that well. it wasn't me - i'm by the gold coast, nj! but it's all over our local news [we live for this kind of news] - "Lottery officials say a single winning ticket for Tuesday night's $126 million Mega Millions drawing was sold at Newark's AJ Seabra Supermarkets XII in Essex County" -- so someone in THE BRICKS or BRICK CITY has won -- hopefully it was someone deserving and good! my only thoughts were 'please don't let it be a knucklehead, please don't let it be a knucklehead'

AH-HAH! NJ is on a roll! They must be stopped! lol Just kidding. My Wa. has only had 2 MM jackpot wins in 6 years. Hoping its our turn soon........for meeee!!!!!! When they say "single ticket" do they mean like a $1.00 purchase? That gives hope to all that you don't have to drop lots of $$$$$$ to hit. Hope it was a nice person who won. We're starting from scratch again........hope the pot grows and grows again! You can run, but you can't hide mighty Jackpot...surrender to me at once!

All low numbers for the five white balls. Congrats to the winner! When I saw the numbers that were drawn last night (02-16-23-29-32/46): I said to myself: The MM Jackpot Got Hit Last Night!

When I saw last night that the winner was in NJ, I thought about Todd winning it.
Come to think of it, Todd, do you use a "system" or is your system QP's???????????

Come to think of it, Todd, do you use a "system" or is your system QP's??????????? I do both. I really like to use this wheel for Mega Millions. It has 46 lines, so I can play every Mega Ball, and it uses 56 numbers, so I can play every number. I Quick Pick the numbers into their positions. (Which is a feature of the Lottery Post wheels page.)

We're starting from scratch again........hope the pot grows and grows again! A "single ticket" means only that particular ticket had the winning numbers. Whether there were 20 lines of numbers on that tickets or not. Moreso, it means that the jackpot won't be split. It's possible for more than one person to have those same winning numbers. The jackpot would be split equally between those ticket holders.
Hope that helps. Living on Earth is expensive, but it does include a free trip around the sun every year.
