Missouri Lottery: Missouri couple captures $4.4M lottery ticketRating:Heather and Jason McCarty's wedding anniversary this week (their 10th) will be just a wee bit more special this time around.
Jason McCarty, 36, bought a winning lottery ticket last weekend worth $4.4 million at the Q-Stop IV at 914 Bryan Road off Interstate 70 in O'Fallon. He purchased a $5 "Quick Pick" Lotto ticket that selected the six winning numbers: 21, 23, 26, 35, 36 and 38 for the jackpot.
"He came home and said, 'Here, happy anniversary," his wife, Heather McCarty, 37, was quoted as saying in a news release.
The McCartys told lottery officials they plan to help their family, buy a new minivan and pay off debt.
The McCartys couldn't immediately be reached for comment, but a lottery spokeswoman said Jason McCarty works for Savvis Communications and Heather McCarty works in a doctor's office.
They have two children and are expecting a third soon.
The Q-Stop IV will receive a check for $44,000 (or 1 percent of the jackpot) for selling the winning ticket.
