Each state has its own rules for lottery games even for the same games, that's the reason California's MM payouts are different than other MM states. * THat which happens most * * is most likely to happen again *

many times people will find out who you are even if you claim anonymously because of where the ticket was sold which should be near your vicinity... Scientists work on many crazy things: Tell them to work on something that will make elderly women gain weight.

VERY smart winner. An LPer, no doubt. A trust, blind or irrevocable, is definitely the way to go, but I don't know how I feel about giving a lawyer that much authority/power over my prize. They're like a bad spouse: once they've got their hooks in ya'..... Personally, I don't have the will power to wait more than a month to collect. I'd definitely wait at least a week, though. "...a chance to push everything aside, the circumstances that've controlled our lives, and do it our way now. Good, bad or otherwise. You'll maybe get lost in it, tied up in it a little bit, but if you work your way through that the real you shows up, I think. Maybe what's at your core deep down, maybe that comes out. Maybe that's what it's about." Mike Pace

There are so many people who commute to Columbus, Ohio and pass by that store on the way.....i even pass by that store when I go to Columbus. I am guessing it is someone who commutes to Columbus everyday to go to work.

Congratulations on your very big, lump-sum, sole Powerball jackpot win! Congrats to the winners for sure whoever they may be. If i won that much money i would be in shock and thank GOD for answering my prayers. I would not tell anyone and keep it a big secret. I'd probably buy a house in Beverly Hills to be around other rich people to blend in....I would definitely disappear from Ohio for good and contact my cousins after I got all set up. I am just dreaming.....dreaming on until maybe someday I will win by luck. The most I ever won...was the Ohio Classic Lotto and I got $70. Recently I won $10 with the $1 Cash Explosion scatch off. I mentioned earlier that the "Hub" store in Sunbury is on a route where many people commute back and forth to Columbus or they work in Sunbury at America Showa. I know where the store is and I have passed it to and from Columbus....a lot of people pass the store on the way to where they going. Like I said before....it could be someone who commutes to work everyday going on that route. They were smart to put it in a blind trust.....and if i had do something like that then I would appoint myself as trustee because I would not trust anyone with the money. Like I said, I only won $12 on that play....would have been nice to have won...I sure could use it right now....my lucky day will come in the future...not sure when but I can feel it coming.

If you are self appoint yourself as trustee, you lose protection of the assets should you get sued. This is why trusts are set up....protection of the assets. If there is a person you can trust, like a family member, you can have co-trustees , the lawyer and that person. It is hard to wrap your head around having someone else own the assets as in the case of a trust, but it is better than having someone sue you and they then own the assets. You can always appoint a new trustee.

If a major lottery prize is not claimed within a week or two in UK, it will most likely never be claimed. We have the same 180-day time period for a claim. Only then, will the lottery operator reveal the location where the winning ticket was purchased and make reasonable attempt to attract the attention of residents in the area. Unclaimed prizes are also displayed on their website, but I doubt anyone who didn't bother to check their tickets would look there. Another thing about UK lottery winnings is that the government has already collected lottery tax or betting duty on the stakes, leaving the prize pool money as "after-tax" and apparently tax-free. Therefore the winners receive every penny as advertised and in a lump sum.
