"The Lottery is bringing back the Millionaire Raffle game for another New Year's Day drawing," said Lottery Executive Director Ed Trees. "This Pennsylvania Lottery game offers our best odds of winning a $1 million prize." Each of the game's $20 tickets offers a 1-in-125,000 chance of winning $1 million. The overall odds of winning any prize are 1-in-83.33. Tickets will be available until 5 p.m. on Jan. 1, or until sold out. Only 500,000 tickets will be sold. When the last raffle ticket is issued, the game will close, and no additional tickets will be available. Tickets for the ten previous Millionaire Raffles sold out before each drawing. Because Millionaire Raffle tickets are scheduled to be sold over 44 days, Trees urged players to sign the backs of tickets promptly and keep them in a safe place until the Jan. 1 drawing. Each raffle ticket will feature a unique, eight-digit number issued sequentially as tickets are sold across the state. The first ticket sold on Nov. 19 will feature number 00000001, and the final raffle ticket for the game will feature number 00500000. To be considered a winning ticket, the number on a Millionaire Raffle ticket must exactly match a winning number selected in the raffle drawing, and all digits must appear in the same sequence as the winning number. Winning Millionaire Raffle ticket numbers will be randomly selected at 6:59 p.m. on Jan. 1 when the Lottery's live drawing show will televise the selection of four $1 million, top-prize raffle ticket numbers and four $100,000, second-prize raffle ticket numbers. The remaining 100 winning ticket numbers for prizes of $1,000 each and 5,892 winning ticket numbers for prizes of $100 each also will be selected, but will not be televised live due to time constraints. In total, 6,000 prizes worth $5,089,200 will be awarded. The complete list of winning numbers will be published on Lottery Post's Pennsylvania Lottery Results page soon after the drawing. I have a hunch I'm going to win this raffle. I think it's a lock. Maybe I better get a ticket. . “Let us disappoint the men who are raising themselves upon the ruin of this Country.” -- John Adams

Thanks sully but there's no luck involved in my system. I've been working on it for months. I just finished the final tweaking and getting all the bugs worked out down to the finest detail. It's a guaranteed lock. It's called the "Somebody Else Always Wins And I'm Sick Of It Strategy Plan System Extraordinaire or SEAWAISOISPSE for short. It's pronounced: see-way-soy-see (the p is silent). Here's how it works: I get in line with all the other people buying tickets and when the pigeon in front of me asks for a raffle ticket I tell him his shoe is untied and when he bends down to look I jump in front of him and grab his ticket and pay for it and run out of the store. Didn't think I was that smart, didja? Maybe I'll get a little more respect around here now. . “Let us disappoint the men who are raising themselves upon the ruin of this Country.” -- John Adams

Are most states offering something similar to the PA raffle? In Connecticut there is something called the "Million Dollar Super Draw" which is a similar idea with a drawing on January 1 but the terms are different. I travel to PA often, so it looks like I'll be able to buy tickets for both : ) I wonder if other states that I travel to have similar offerings - I am a truck driver. I also travel to MA, NY, NJ, NH and Maine.

The only nearby state is Rhode Island. They have the Million Dollar Raffle, on January 1. Tickets are $20 each. If purchased early, the ticket is also entered into a bonus Early Bird drawing, with a $5,000 prize.

I have 3 so far. I'm shooting for at least one in the 5 digits, one in the 100,000s, one in the 200,000 and so forth. Too bad the second I got was only 96,000 something. I'll have to buy at least 6. Heck, I'll probably end up with 10!(All winners of course!!!)
