Kimberly McCauley of Charlotte, N.C., won $100,000 in North Carolina's new scratcher game called "10X the Money," last week. McCauley said she never imagined she'd win anything. After all, her mother Amy McCauley is a two-time lottery winner. "I figured my mom was hogging all the luck. This is so overwhelming, but it's a good kind of overwhelming," Kimberly told lottery officials. The elder McCauley won $15.5 million in the New York State Lottery in 1991 and just collected her final 20 year annuity check. Her lucky streak continued four years ago, when she won $161,172 in the North Carolina Education Lottery by matching all five numbers to her ticket. Since then, she has gone on to collect two $1,000 prizes from the state's lottery and even appeared in an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show discussing her windfall. Kimberly brought her mom — by now a seasoned veteran — with her to the North Carolina Education Lottery's office in Raleigh last Monday to claim her prize. Ryan Kennemur, spokesperon for the North Carolina Education Lottery, said the two seemed calm. "Once you win the lottery twice, what's a third time?" he told ABC News. Kimberly, whose winnings are worth $68,001 after taxes, said she plans to spend the money to pay off her student loans and purchase a Mini Cooper. This isn't the first time lightning has struck twice for a North Carolina resident. Michael Mabe of Belews Creek, N.C., collected his second $100,000 prize in May 2011. He won his first in December 2010. "Winning one time is awesome. It's a once in a lifetime thing," Mabe told lottery officials. "But winning twice is something special. I'm very grateful." I'm glad they are all grateful! (Evil side of me says "Well, they SHOULD be!") And here I was happy because I won $25 last week - most I've won in over a year. I would love just to win the jackpot once - I can be happy with 5M. I would be happy to win anything here.Being greatful is why she keeps winning.I cuse the Tn Lottery daily..By not playing anymore I did remodel the house,,and yes greatful for what I HAVE now is worth it.I study it just like other states.I never get a hit on paper.You should see my bedroom,paradise.Thankful for God waking me up to crooks. | | |

It is interesting that the daughter will pay off student loans and buy a relatively modest car. Hopefully this means that the family is grounded, has not gone to excess, and is wisely investing the $15.5 million dollar win ($775k a year before taxes for the past 20 years). They did make an additional wise move at some point by relocating from NY to NC if they were NY residents at the time of the 1991 win. I like winner's stories. | | |

I've been to the lottery office twice now in less then 3 months, won 1000 off a scratcher and 934 bucks from Daily Derby...won 500 off a scratcher about 10 times in the last 6 months...I'm holding out for MEGA :) | | |

I am not surprised that lightning struck twice in this family, as we do occasionally read of jackpot winners who go on to win a second time. Like other lucky lottery winners, this lady expected the best, and live accordingly. The daughter had a child-like faith and belief and most probably made a mental picture of winning the lottery. "It is done unto you as you believe." So thoughts of failure never entered her mind. We should learn the lesson of life and action from this lucky family. 1) Keep your mind on happy thoughts. 2) Be joyful and be filled with faith, hope and expectancy. 3) Know that no matter what others may say or think about your lottery playing, you are lucky now and nothing can stop you from winning. 4) Know it. Believe it. 5) Never waver from playing the lottery, regardless of what happens. 6) Then you will attract success. BUT success depends on luck, a.k.a. LABORING UNDER CORRECT KNOWLEDGE. As for me, I believe my success now comes from The Lottery Code that Joker17 told us about. | | |
