$640 MILLION: MEGA MANIA!

Oh, CollegeLad09, don't hate that fact; something would be wrong if you didn't feel that 'euphamistic way' and purchased lottery tickets anyhow.  If you can still afford to spend the monies as "entertainment," go ahead and buy one or two tickets for PB and MM with/multiplier option each drawing.  Or if lesser budget remains, choose a 'particular cash lump sum, after taxes dollar amount' that makes sense for the minimum lifestyle you (and perhaps 3 family members you will claim an equal or lesser % on claim form with -- then if you win second place, you'd merely claim 100% on the form) would like to live ... refrain from buying draws for lesser lump sum amount jackpots.  Lots of folks with access to few $$$ are doing that and are happier for it.

Anyhow, CollegeLad09, I like your plan to wait to check your tickets, perhaps you could reduce your 'check ticket, wait time' down to 8-12 hours after lottery drawing. 

Note that there have been a few players each year who have won jackpots without even looking at their computer generated #s, thinking about them before the drawing, and even watching or listening to the drawing.

As of 5 AM Eastern, Maryland Lottery's site is still claiming a winner but the jackpot number still says $640 million.

Wondering if maybe it's not 100% official yet?  I'm not surprised that the MM site hasn't been updated with Tuesday's jackpot, but I am surprised that USA Mega has nothing yet... unless Todd said "screw this, I'm going to bed, we'll sort this out in the morning."

Me too!! I just woke up to check the USAMega site and it's still the same, as my state lotto

site has not changed as well, still says $640 million. Strange not to have updates especially with

a jackpot this big.

I'm glad I came to my senses before I did anything crazy.

I wonder what's going through the winner's head right now? You know you're a millionaire, but you don't know how much it will be exactly. Could be 300 million, or could be as "little" as 60 million.

i guess i could hope they are wrong and nobody won, since we dont have an official update from megamillions. but that seems to be overly optimistic at this point

Also, Todd, et el,  may be able to update a few things [so many more # lines sold than usual, so probably a big bottleneck] come 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time or so.

     There only one winner or could there be more winners , and the lotto officials

     doesn't have a "head count yet "  ????  You would thought , there would be more

     people , to win this amount of money .

Wild guess but I bet there are close to 100 Jackpot winners and they are trying to figure out WTF happened and how they are gonna spin this in the media! 

It never takes this long, so it is more than one.
