Mega Millions

By Todd Northrop

The final claim date is quickly approaching for the owner of a $250,000 second-tier Mega Millions ticket purched in Maryland at the end of March.

The ticket must be claimed by Friday, September 28, 2012 at 4:30 pm.

The winning ticket was from the $656 million Mega Millions drawing on Friday, Match 30, 2012, and was purchased at 7-11, located at 9709 Beaver Dam Road in Timonium.

The winning numbers for the March 30 Mega Millions drawing were 2, 4, 23, 38, and 46, with Mega Ball number 23.  The unclaimed $250,000 winning ticket matched the first five numbers, but not the Mega Ball number.

If the $250,000 winning ticket is not redeemed by next Friday, it becomes a worthless piece of paper.

This is crazy to me.  If you're going to the trouble of buying a ticket to win the lottery, how do you just misplace your tickets before verifying them???  Bang Head

It was probably a ticket bought while passing through.   Thrown in the glove box.   Thrown away when cleaning out the glove box.

I'm hoping that the owner cashes on time or the ticket is never found and the owner never knows they won because it would hurt hurt hurt Bash

Probably was won by someone who so disappointed at coming so close to winning the largest jackpot ever that they weren't interested in collecting a mere $250K.

Can you blame them? I would be ashamed and humiliated to come so close. Better to just let that $250K roll back into the next jackpot.

Not much you can do with that chump change nowadays anyways.  No Nod

Was thinking about the thread 4 hrs. ago when I was digging through my garage trashbag looking for a receipt,

the receipt you need is always the one you can't find,

now is there a way to turn that into a winning formula ?
