The winner, whose name, age and hometown weren't released, is an Army veteran whose has been disabled since 2009 with a back injury, lottery officials said in a press release. The jackpot came at just the right time to help the man deal with undisclosed family issues and to help his four children, the press release said. "This is a direct blessing from God," he was quoted as saying in the press release. "Now everybody will be okay." The man bought the ticket at Towns Mart, at 13200 32 Mile Road, in Washington Township, near Romeo. A day after buying the ticket, the man returned to the store to check the numbers. "I got weak in the knees while I was standing at the counter, after he (the retailer) told me I had matched all six numbers," the winner said in the press release. Thanks to Aluckygal for the tip. Like true believers always say. He (God) may not always come when you want to...but he is always on time! Congrats to the lucky winner. I hope he uses the money wisely. 1.3 million is not a mega jackpot but it's a whole lot more than 4 quarters. It should be enough to get back on his feet but he is no where set for life. Especially after taxes. It will just may life a little more comfortable. "We make a living by what you get, You make a LIFE by what you give!" Sir Winston Churchill | | |
