The winners, who asked the Lottery not to disclose their identities, claimed the prize today at Lottery headquarters, after matching all numbers in the January 12 drawing. The lucky numbers were 13-15-21-34-35 with Hot Ball number 4. The winners purchased their lucky ticket at QuikTrip, located at 555 N. 78th Street in Kansas City, Kansas. For selling the jackpot-winning ticket, the store receives a $2,500 selling bonus. The Hot Lotto jackpot is the fifth hit in Kansas since 2006. Game set to change in May This Spring, the Hot Lotto game will see its first changes since adding the Sizzler option in 2008. Tickets with the new game rules go on sale starting Sunday, May 12, 2013, with the first drawing under the new rules taking place Wednesday, May 15. The game changes include: - Eight white ball numbers will be added, increasing the number of white balls from 39 to 47. The Hot Ball numbers will remain at 19. Therefore, the new game matrix will be 5/47 + 1/19.
- The new jackpot odds will be 1 in 29,144,841, while the new overall odds of winning will be 1 in 17.
- The minimum jackpot will continue to be $1,000,000, with each rollover adding at least $50,000. However the advertised jackpot will be an all-cash "taxes-paid" amount — jackpot winners will be paid out the full advertised amount instead of the previous annuity.
- The new prize payouts will be:
- Match 5 numbers plus the Hot Ball: Win the jackpot as all-cash, taxes paid
- Match 5 numbers without the Hot Ball: $30,000, or $90,000 with Sizzler purchase
- Match 4 numbers plus the Hot Ball: $3,000, or $9,000 with Sizzler purchase
- Match 4 numbers without the Hot Ball: $100, or $300 with Sizzler purchase
- Match 3 numbers plus the Hot Ball: $100, or $300 with Sizzler purchase
- Match 3 numbers without the Hot Ball: $6, or $18 with Sizzler purchase
- Match 2 numbers plus the Hot Ball: $6, or $18 with Sizzler purchase
- Match 1 number plus the Hot Ball: $3, or $9 with Sizzler purchase
- Match the Hot Ball only: $2, or $6 with Sizzler purchase

I agree, at least these folk are savvy enough to know that perhaps this total is not enough to retire on at present.Whatever their reasons, 9 million is not a shabby amount. Im waiting for my first million. Congrats to them.

Im waiting for my first million. Congrats to them. They said "We like our jobs" and I took that to mean that they are already happy with their lives and really didn't NEED a lottery win to make their lives BETTER. This is exactly the approach I will take when I win.

Congratulations tidy Hot Lotto Jackpot winners! After receiving their jackpot win net amount of apx. $6.6M, in about 2 months, it will register that with 90% of this invested low-risk and medium-risk levels, a vigilantly financial balance aware young or older family of 4 could live very comfortably. Annual 2 weeks of summer family vacation trips, high-speed Internet, couple of big screen TVs w/full Internet browsing ability, a few Roku or blu ray boxes w/Netflix and Hulu+ aps & subscriptions, newer or better furnished house, 2 two year old fully-loaded 'green' vehicles, create back-yard oasis, monthly hobbies and/or tuition monies, become part-time weekly students-turn-investors, in 18 months adult(s) quit job or jobs; unless near retirement and attractive retirement package. ♥ Having millions of dollars in my financial accounts means more, consistent fun for me.

Im waiting for my first million. Congrats to them. After paying taxes in my state, it would have been right around 4 mil or a little better. Life changing for me? Yes, I'd take a couple steps up in the world. Wealthy? No. Congrats to them, and congrats on taking it slow in deciding what their future will look like with this windfall.

Advertising actual cash prize after taxes? I think I like the idea! It's also a lot more realistic than these inflated annuity jackpots. If only PB and MM modified their payout the same way
