The winning ticket to Wednesday night's Powerball drawing worth about $40 million was sold in an East Texas town, a first for the Lone Star state, lottery officials said.
The ticket was sold at the Lone Star Food Store in the town of Bells, east of Sherman in Grayson County.
The ticket matched all six numbers (9, 14, 17, 49, and 57, with Powerball number 2) in the drawing for an estimated $40 million.
The ticket was the first Powerball jackpot-winning ticket sold in Texas since the Texas Lottery joined the game in 2010, agency officials said.
The holder chose the cash value option, lottery officials said, and has 180 days to claim the prize.
Yea Texas, but it's near the border of Ok and could be a Okee.
Texas has enough Millionaires already, but congrats anyway! Just glad it wasn't a winner from Florida, especially NOT a New Yorker.
Congratulations to the winner/s
I wish it was this Okie
Congrats to the winner(s) from Bells Texas! Yee Haaawwwww!!!
God Bless Texas!
I hope you would make an exception for a LP member from NY.
Okay,,, I suppose that would be my only exception...lol I would love to see someone from here win other than myself and share their story but most people here would do a houdini and vanish.
If I won I'd give a shout out to lotterypost and skip the big press conference and maybe do a interview with the LP site owner..then I would vanish also for awhile.
I wonder if anyone from here ever won? OR... if anyone that has won actually reads all these comments..
If I'm the winner I will not wait for 180 days to claim the prize, I will be in their office the following day. I will be extremely happy if I wil win this huge prize. Hopefully my lottery system will give me good numbers.
