Daviess County gas station sold winning Powerball ticket

PowerballPowerball: Daviess County gas station sold winning Powerball ticket

Lottery officials say a convenience store in a small southwestern Indiana city sold one of two tickets that will share Saturday night's nearly $191 million dollar Powerball jackpot.

Hoosier Lottery spokesman Andrew Reed said Shell Mart Number 2 in Daviess County sold one of the two winning tickets.

The second ticket was sold in Minnesota.

Reed says the Washington Shell Mart will be officially notified that it sold one of the winning tickets after lottery offices reopen Monday and lottery security personnel pick up paperwork from the store.

Tammy Porter is the manager of Shell Mart Number 2 in Washington, a community of 15,000 residents. She says she won't be celebrating until she gets the official notification from the state that her store sold one of the winning tickets. But she says she's excited.

Both winning ticket holders may choose either the $95.4 million dollar, 29-year annuity or the cash option worth $49.7 million.

The $190.9 million jackpot Saturday night makes the Top Ten of lottery history in the tenth spot and is the sixth biggest Powerball ever.

The numbers drawn were: 6, 17, 45, 47, 48, and the Powerball was 4. Players purchased more than 50 million tickets between Thursday and Saturday night for a chance at the big payoff.
