GTECH CorporationGTECH Corporation: GTECH Moves Jobs From Ohio To Rhode Island

GTECH, one of the largest suppliers in the lottery industry, will eliminate 130 jobs in Ohio, moving those job functions to Rhode Island.

Starting April 1, Interlott Technology Inc. will be moved by parent company GTECH Holdings Corp. to its headquarters in West Greenwich, R.I.  The move should be completed by September, company officials said.

Interlott makes instant ticket lottery machines, and was acquired by GTECH in September for $85 million.

A company spokeswoman said relocation assistance will be offered to Interlott's 90 manufacturing employees willing to move to Rhode Island. Those who don't move will be offered severance.

The company says Interlott's sales and administrative staff will be offered severance and the opportunity to apply for jobs in Rhode Island.

Gtech is the largest supplier of online gaming systems and services with revenues of $1 billion and 4,300 employees.

In 2003, Interlott had record revenues of $52 million and profits of $3 million.

Mason is about 20 miles northeast of Cincinnati.
