Why don't we have a federal national lottery in the US?
Just the other day I said it wouldn't be long before politics began appearing in lottery topics this election cycle. For the record the total U.S. lottery sales is about $70 billion a year and about 40% of that is returned to the players. If your National Lottery matched those figures, you'll get about $42 billion or 0.2% to contribution to the deficit.

How is this not a massive fraud by the Florida Lottery?
Politics has been sketchy for long as organized society has existed. Sunshine laws aren't overly effective - never have been. If government wants to hide something they will - local governments can be as bad, if not worse than state and federal in this regard. Special interest groups and lobbyists are often what it takes to have a chance at meaningful reforms. Shame you don't want to take it any further, but I totally understand - takes much time, effort, and money. Maybe someone else will - wou

States that win too often should be punished.
How do politics affect ping pong balls blowing around in a machine? You know ya'll would have a smidgen of credibility if you made sense.

How much for the tithe?
I occasionally attend a local Unitarian church. They don't push for anything, which can be both nice and bland at the same time. I was thinking. If I ever won a jackpot, I will have to hire a tax attorney. I know that I will have to pay the initial 25%. But what about other 15% next year? Is there any way to avoid it? Well... Some people create their own charity foundation and DONATE TO THEMSELVES. And AFAIK it's not illegal so far. I think I should do the same. Maybe I should buy

Michiganders
l was having a few when l posted that remark Rman313 - however l think l may have given the wrong impression . My original question if memory serves me correct was If you won the lottery- would you help out your city..or something to that effect .. the response l got was No way.. Let Detroit be cut off from the State ..... l have never been to Detroit and do not plan to- but the response was funny nonetheless, imo. Politics aside.

As a Lottery JP winner: Would you " help" your city out if they were on the verge of bankruptcy?
LOL now why am I stupid? Have I called you any names? Why are you try to make it personal? You do not like the ACA...that's fine I think its a good idea, but both our points are irrelevant because this is a lottery site and I still think what is truly STUPID is disscussing politics on a lottery site, nobody can have the conversation without calling names and getting personal. Also for the last time I dont know who bsb or billionaire2b is or why you keep calling me that, but I want you to stop, N

What do you love most about Lottery Post?
Well, I have to tell you that I strongly disagree. Also, I think you said it best, its a matter of ones perspective and I gave you mine. And as far as your shia, al-queada rant, what I've have learned is that most people don't even know what they're talking about. They take their talking points from Fox news. The problem is most people don't think for themselves. You speak of Barack as if you know him, how would you know his true nature and his goals You seem to know him so well, could you tell

Furlough Government Shutdown and the Lottery
After all Lottery and Politics dont mix. I wish they wouldn't mix in Lottery Post; gets really old having to wade through the posts of partisan hacks. I've been thinking about getting a premium membership just so I can block *some* people.

If a store offered Quickpicks as rewards, would you shop there?
Buddy, you have no idea just how much merit is within this post...and thank you!!! Soooo many people have the whole food stamp politics deal all wrong because they don't understand the motive behind it...nor the $$$$$ involved. Most of all, people don't actually know who is really pushing the project. There's also a lot more to the health care policy, but that's another story. L.L.

Would you leave the US if you won a MM or PB jackpot?
I absolutely would also. Reason being taxes, lack of leadership in Washington for the middle class and the poor, and I would renounce my citizenship. I've had it with Washington politics, power, and greed.
