it would be nice to have lotteries on the tri-state border where i live..tennessee,mississippi,arkansas.i live about 20 minutes from mississippi and arkansas but sadly no lotteries at either.....

i live in tennessee right on the three way border of mississippi,tennessee and arkansas,yep arkansas and mississippi are missing out,an arkansas resident came to memphis and won 100,000 on a powerball ticket about a month or two back,person was from west memphis arkansas!

i don't think it'll ever happen.mississippi wasn't able to pass here recently.tennessee has been trying since 1984 and we barely got ours to pass 20 years later,mississippi also has powerful casinos who will join forces with the church to block a lottery from ever passing.i could see arkansas dventually.....

Is it true that orginally the casinos were only allowed if they were not land based, i.e. they had to float on water? Hence why all the casinos ended up on the coast. Why was this done? Very true Tucker Black but the always contingent is here on LP. As of now Mississippi and Alabama don't have lotto, but when either one or both get it and someone from there wins a PB or MM jackpot guaranteed someone will post, It's always Mississippi (or Alabama).

Do you think Powerball will spread to the 6 remaining non-playing states?
If Alabama gets it then I can see Mississippi getting it but I doubt Utah Nevada will ever get the lottery.
