Do you think they would make a new lottery movie...
Maybe someone could make an episode of CBS NUMBERS in which the FBI are asked to investigate a person of interest who has won several lottery jackpots recently and they call on the mathematician to figure how it's being done. During the show they expose many of the math theories that might be used to improve ones odds of winning. Near the end the FBI figures out the drawings are a scam and the crooks doing it are also looking to bust this guy because he has hacked into their operations an

Living off of the lottery...
Quote: Originally posted by pumpi76 on May 21, 2006 justxploring i disagree with you. I think is good to race animals for entertainment. If you look at it from the bright side, the animals are getting in shape; they working out, specially horses and dogs. However i wonder how many times they race those animals a day? if is 2 times is super o.k. I don't think they should put 16 horses on the same track and race them, is too much. 8 horses should be the limit. And the payout should be no more than

Lotto Jokes anyone?
The Paramedic One day, at a casino buffet, a man suddenly called out, My son's choking! He swallowed a quarter! Help! Please, anyone! Help! A man from a nearby table stood up and announced that he was quite experienced at this sort of thing. He stepped over with almost no look of concern at all, wrapped his hands around the boy's gonads, and squeezed. Out popped the quarter. The man then went back to his table as though nothing had happened. Thank you! Thank you! the father cried. Are

Lotto Maxims
tiggs95, I couldn't agree more but you'll never convince people it isn't all luck. One of the first guys I workled for in Vegas used to say there was nobody he enjoyed beating more than someone with a degree in probabilites that was out to prove he could beat the casino - especially of they were from Providence. (Inside casino joke, Ivy Leaguers). When I worked there one of the slot companies came out with a mechanical horse race machine (before everything went digital and computer

An Ethical Dilemma...
I would take the entire amount. I agree, it would be impossible to trace the last person that used the machine. If you go to a clerk or anyone else, they may take it for themselves, so you would be giving it away. Strange things happen though, maybe it was meant for you to have those extra credits. Here's something that happened to me and I think my guardians Angels (or spirit guides) had a hand in it. I went to the race track, I told the cashier I wanted a $2 bet on horse number 2. And I tho

5 + 0 out of 5 + 1
Let's just say on some night when there's a drawing you have a ticket, are sitting home, you watch the drawing, and you get the first five numbers. OK, at this point, you're on pins and needles waiting for that other number, right? I figure either way, if it hits, or not, you're going to have some kind of wild reacion, no? Look at the way people react to a photo finish at a horse race track, and that's certainly not with bets that are going to pay millions. On one of those lottery ducu

Indicators?
Do you really think hoping you'll get the right first number and the same exact + and - pattern will repeat is smart? Let me give you two more examples......in the late 1970s the casinos put in a mechanical horse racing game that was basically a very large version of a kid's game and set up to take and payout quarters. From the very first race people were keeping track with paper and pencil 'doping out' the races. There were 8 horses and once 8 races had been run some people were bettin

predictios--Must have limits
Speaking of touts, I went to a race track with a guy that would mention the name of every horse before the race and after the race would say, See, I told ya that horse had a chance to win . But people posting multiple numbers to say they hit something in some state, as B$Rizzle mentioned, is just doing it for braggin rights, which is kind of silly. If we throw in a little common sense, it would next to impossible to bet 50 combos in every state with a pick-3 games and they would need mor

What was your largest win with commercial lottery software?
I wish there was some way to ask this question and obtain a result that could be trusted, but I can't think of a way. Anyone producing software is going to naturally answer in a way that makes their software seem profitable, and knowing there is absolutely no way to verify their answer, they can say anything they want to. Also, some people will post winnings from online gambling, which is not not helpful for the average player looking to evaluate software. In order to play online, you f
