If and when it's legal to play on line again, all your winnings will be taxable, not just the amounts over $600 that the states send out W-G's for. It was never legal not to pay taxes on lottery winnings even when players got away with it.

i voted to come forward after consulting legal advice and financial advice. i also know it can take 2-6 weeks for the lottery to receive all of the money from the other states involved in the game so there would be no rush to show up before they can actually wire me the money. if it wasnt a multi state game and just in my state jackpot then i would show up after i have my legal and financial advice because it shouldnt take as long to wire me the money without having to wait on other states...

Wouldn't surprise me if the state lottery goon squad sees the online gambling law as an oppertunity to get rid of pesky competition even when free lottery games should be legal since no money is being used for gambling. What happens is the state misunderstands and runs up the legal bill till the company is out of business, then too bad so sad they've eaten every one. BobP

Hello to all, I am new to Lottery Post. I am interested in finding out , as I am sure most of you are too, just what is legal or will be and what isn't. Legal question?
Let's say I win a large amount of money in the lottery (this post to GOD's ears) and give a nice amount to a close friend of mine who is married but that could change at any minute. My question is can he put the money somewhere where he is only entitled to it if the end up getting divorced or does half the money I gave him become hers no matter what? Just curious . Thanks

It would be legal I think if you moved it offshore to another country. You can base the headquarters overseas and bypass that law if I'm not mistaken. I thought Betslips was in the USA anybody know? You would have to get some legal advice it wouldnt be cheap. And you need some startup money and other people to go into business with you.
