Maryland Student Admits To Lottery ScamWednesday, August 18, 2004The Associated Press A 19-year-old high school student has pleaded guilty to trying to con the Maryland Lottery out of 175-thousand dollars.John Gilbert Junior pleaded guilty today in Baltimore District Court. He was sentenced to 50 hours of community service and six months of probation for one count of presenting a counterfeit ticket for payment.Prosecutors say Gilbert taped together the top half of a losing Mega Millions ticket
