Three largest online poker sites shut down by FBI
It's called bad News reporting! Pokerstars dot com, Fulltilt dot com, and Absolute poker dot com were all seized and shut down by the FBI. Their poker room sites never shut down and it's business as usual for everyone outside the U.S. I'm assuming you're playing for free money because Pokerstars won't let any U.S. player play for real money.

Three largest online poker sites shut down by FBI
They performed illegal actions to keep their business running. Maybe Canadians are guilty until proven innocent but the U.S. Justice Department hasn't entered into the plea phase let alone a trial. What ever the poker sites did, it was to help Americans find a way to spend THEIR MONEY playing online poker. Those businesses are running fine today just without any American playing.

Three largest online poker sites shut down by FBI
Its illegal to play online poker in the US. If you mean to play online poker for money, it's illegal for banks and financial institutions to transfer or receive money. I read where several players have cashed out their accounts; I hope they realize the FBI is probably monitoring those transactions.

How online gamblers unmasked cheaters
If there is a way to cheat, someone will try and when the game isn't transparent to the players, it's easier for a cheater to do his thing. I saw the 60 minutes piece and was surprised that people would invest so much in a poker game that they couldn't see the dealer or the other players. I've always thought of the Internet poker player as players who just played for fun to sharpen their skills for a live game.

Outlook for online gambling in U.S. discussed at conference
They sure take a long time to do it, 18 months.. I support online gaming if it is legitimate. Hopefully in Second Life they will also allow playing poker. My fear though would be, what if computers were on the other end controlling what cards are drawn? These games surely are drawn from a computerized deck, am I right? Just as for many good reasons you don't like computerized drawings, why all of a sudden are we in favor of computerized poker? The only way to do it is if it's a fair game (the ho

U.S. legislation likely just a speed bump for online gambling
I agree with eliminating all computerized drawings. Including any online games that are computerized. The only thing that should be bet online is poker and other card games that are played against ONLY OTHER HUMAN PLAYERS! NOTE: There are several programs you can buy for very little money that you can play Poker at home vs. the computer or online human opponents. It's a lot cheaper than all the money that players lose online on all these blatantly fixed uncontrolled unregulated online casino
