Mass. Lottery games to merge, jackpots to increase
massachusetts should extend their annuity period to 30 years, and offer a cash option of at least $1 million. that way, the annuity value would be greater, and there would be bigger rollovers in terms of the annuity value. either that or make all their games offer a lump sum jackpot instead of just mass cash. a lot of customers choose the cash option. on an average day in PA, i would see maybe one or two customers ask for the annuity value for the old super 6. the rest would ask for the cas

Mega Millions goes on sale in South Dakota May 16
YAY for South Dakota! We apparently have no members from South Dakota willing to say YAY for their state so it came to pass that the burden seemed to fall on me. I was going to say: GO FARGO! YAY! Video Lottery Placed On South Dakota Ballot
Video lottery is once again on the chopping block in South Dakota. The state Supreme Court says voters can decide the fate of the controversial gambling devices in November. A unanimous ruling from the high court today also adds a measure to the statewide ballot that seeks to repeal a state tax on cell phones. State officials had refused to put those issues on the ballot even though the people pushing them gathered enough signatures to qualify for slots on the ballot. In a nutshell,

Will N.C. create a lottery-video poker partnership?
North Carolina House Speaker Jim Black, D-Mecklenburg, argues that North Carolina's new education lottery will remove the allure of another hotly debated form of gambling -- video poker. People tell me the lottery will probably pretty much do away with video poker, said Black, who backs the video poker industry. Those people who want to do some recreational gambling can certainly get their kicks with the lottery. Other video poker supporters hope the opposite will happen.A few states have made

Powerball to increase to three drawings a week
Multi-state jackpots are paid by all the states collectively. A percentage of every ticket sold goes toward the jackpot in each state. (That's why it can take a couple of weeks to get the check.) On the other hand, all non-jackpot prizes are paid 100% by the state that sold the winning ticket. So if someone from South Dakota
