Hoax: Man claimed he shredded winning ticket
The real winner says she has played the same number for years A Florida man's story to get his hands on $14.5 million in lottery winnings has been shredded. Chris Gooden, 31, had claimed that he put a winning lottery ticket in the shredder by mistake last month and that he literally only had shreds of evidence that he was the true winner of the Sept. 22 Florida Lottery drawing. The story seemed like a tragedy until the real winner, a 70-year-old retiree, came forward with the winning ti

Phony Powerball tickets flood social media in wake of $1.6 billion jackpot
Social media and 24 hour news cycle has further lowered the bar for news organizations, which have always struggled to get facts straight, to publish articles long before they're ready. Taking time to contact the California Lottery to verify is too long to wait, the article must post now to beat the competition. News organizations will seemingly publish most anything with little to no fact checking nor asking many, if any, questions. Such as the story of the restaurant workers who thought the

$1.5 BILLION: Wednesday Powerball record jackpot still rising
The restaurant story seems a hoax, but whatever. Around 80% of all combinations to be sold by draw time. However, actual number of tickets sold could be upwards of 500 million, since many combinations will be duplicated. From what I've read, over 400 million tickets were sold in the past drawing with about 75% combination coverage. The jackpot estimate is still at $1.5 billion annuity / $930 million cash. Surprising it wasn't raised today. Are sales slumping?

Arizona man claims other half of record Powerball jackpot
''The man, who is in his 30s from a wealthy Phoenix suburb, decided to remain anonymous after he bought $10 worth of tickets and kept the winning slip in the visor of his car overnight before realizing he was a multimillionaire.'' Hmmm... I didn't realize construction paid so well to where he would be able to already be living in such a wealthy suburb. Is this Arizonia winner the black construction guy that was caught on camera or was that video a hoax? Congrats to him! It should be a

Pool of McDonald's workers claims Mega Millions fraud
That's why no one here at this site plays the lottery. This website is just a smoke screen, and a hoax created by the lotteries to induce people to waste their hard earned money. Weren't you aware of this Sjack? The majority of us just play bingo, checkers or fish to entertain ourselves. Are you any good at checkers?

Ct. man claims he lost $254M Powerball ticket
This story is simple a hoax. The real winner or winners are bidding their time and getting a trusting atorney. Only idiots claim a jackpot of that size right away. The real winner might be working a regular job and excited because he or she is about to give a two weeks notice. A smart person won't give a two weeks notice right away because snakes at work might suspect something. A jackpot of this size will attract a lot of snakes so to me the winner is planning careful. The garbage man p

Man wins $2 million from Ohio Lottery
The story that they called him down there and refused to tell him why sounds a little hard to believe. What if he thought it was a hoax and didn't go? Then what? I think he knew exactly what was going on and didn't mind the exposure.

Dad's Powerball lottery win causes honor student to miss exam
Straannnnngggeeeeeeee!!!! Okay, is all of this a hoax? Why bother to give a public family biography. Do you or do you not know (apparently) that this kind of JackPot won by one person or two or three family members, definitely got attention nationnwide. Did the 12/02 jackpot not do the same???? Nothing but regrets have I read about. Do you want your children disillusioned by the negative elements that are sure to follow? Another strange thing. I thought that the Lottery people could always
