Blackapple wrote the following .... The science of astronomy was also spurred by the need to have accurate calendars and a better understanding of climate and rainfall patterns for timely sowing and choice of crops. At the same time, religion and astrology also played a role in creating an interest in astronomy and a negative fallout of this irrational influence was the rejection of scientific theories that were far ahead of their time I am surprised that you of all people wrote suc

Do statistics trump all other forms of math where lotteries are concerned?
That remains to be seen. But at least the subject matter belongs in the math forum math as it relates to lotteries , as opposed to the Mystical Forum Statistics as a doctrinal religion applied to lotteries .

Determinism vs Randomness and Chance
Jimmy: leave those interested free to examine some interesting Monte Carlo Software techniques that I would like to introduce which could prove useful not only in understanding the lottery, but other more general areas where stochastic processes exist. I'd be interested in reading about your experiences with Monte Carlo software [insofar as they're Excel friendly]. I hope you'll post them. Your views about religion don't interest me. I don't have strong feelings about your views about rel

Do statistics trump all other forms of math where lotteries are concerned?
Hi Raven: There's merit to what you've said about math. However, among statisticians, particularly academic statisticians, statistics isn't a science. For them statistics is a religion. Their approach to statistics differs from science throughout the definition of the word. Science: Unbiased observation [minus preconceptions], premises, theories, hypotheses based on observation, testing of premises, theories and hypotheses, new observations based on outcomes of test results, modify premise

Unlike many cultural traditions which treat science and religion as antithetical to each other, the Hindu tradition encourages the study of physics and metaphysics both for a comparative understanding of the true nature of the cosmic mystery surrounding and pervading the universe http://www.hindunet.org/hindu_history/ancient/mahabharat/mahab_sarasvat.html

Chaos-Order Duality
Before I reply Delores247, I have to give this warning to those who would use what I'm about to write. DO NOT use my words to support your greedy, egocentric, popularity seeking, population controlling, petty grasping ambitions. The information I post is meant for us all, is to be seen as a whole and not to be taken out of context. If you do, the wrath will come unseen, because part of it is already inside of you call the conscience and acts as judge, jury and executioner. Delores247, I think

Few Americans are aware of the immense scientific contributions of India and China. Albert Einstein wrote: We owe a lot to the Indians, who taught us how to count, without which no worthwhile scientific discovery could have been made. The number zero was introduced by an Indian mathematician named Aryabhatta. We take the significance of the number zero for granted. Yet, until one thousand five hundred (1500) years ago, mathematicians did not realize that it was necessar

Sergem = vtrac on the 49/6, is reduced to form pairs, So, the 1st will be vtrac = 01.25 Vtrac2 = 02.06 ..... 24 48, we have 24 vtrac, course numbers will be 12 then deployed So all stats go from 01 to 24 who are 24 vtrac possible halving From 49 to 24, (a vtrac have 3 numbers close to 49)

Can math and logic improve chances of winning a jackpot?
Jimmy4164, Thank you! That you can't provide the proof is all we needed to hear. Everyone knew and finally you have manned up to admit it. The Leprechauns are dancing an Irish jig on the countertop!!! You're making progress with the English language. Next year, when you get to third grade, you will learn things like can and can't. Interesting you admit more losing QPs result from more QPs sold, but can't see the double edge sword that more winning QPs result from more QPS sold. Does
