I don't think it could hit a Billion. Even if it did....think of the negative side also. You would be beyond famous forget Jack Whittaker you would be hounded for the REST of your life! It would take years to hit that level again and make people forget..and with the current financial mess people are looking for dreams. It has absolutely happened many times before (winning on one pick), and if you search the News forum for past winners you will uncover some. However, more people win with multiple picks. That is odds at work, plain and simple. It is the same reason why more winners tend to come from states with large populations. Jack Whittaker won with $98 in Powerball tickets. (To use an infamous example.)

I'm sure it takes at least 2 weeks for the money to be fully deposited in the bank of your choice. However I remember reading that when Jack Whittaker claimed his jackpot he got something like $10million upfront. Anyways I think the news conference timing is up to you, but with the size of this jackpot it's inevitable so might as well get it over with. As far as verifying the ticket do so at the lottery HQ. There are too many people that post in this forum that count their eggs before they have any chickens. The odds of anyone ever posting a set of winning numbers here are the same as anyone here ever winning a jackpots.
