WA scratchers where are u??
Nice!! I'm from Hawaii and back home we don't have the lottery or anykind of legal gambling so when i moved here a little over 2 years ago I was instantly stuck on playing the lotto and scratchoffs lol. I've had my share of 100$ wins here and there but never over 200$. I've been doing research and the areas that win are mostly not around my area of Tacoma/Spanaway lol. The other day some lady won 1,0000000 on a 20$ scratchoff and the lotto jackpot of 2.9 million was won in Seattle. I'm s

McDonald's Monopoly Instant Win Game
The main problem I had with that incident was the employee telling the customer, incorrectly, that she had to pay for the order (she was not required to pay if she refused the order based on McDonald's inability to provide what they advertised - the ad poster was still up - and nothing was there to indicate supplies had run out). Legally McDonald's had to cancel the order if requested (or refund if already paid for but order not accepted yet by customer). Contrary to popular opinion, fine print

Deducting lottery losses
Thats why I was questioning it. Technically they do not withhold taxes when a prize is less than $599. So if you win more than that on a single game/drawing, then technically it would be more than $599 (broken up in multiple wins of $500)....So Thats why I was wondering if it was actually legal or not. Im sure it would not be a big deal if you won $500 a couple times and cashed them in.But if you won $500 x 20 + times on the same drawing it may raise some eyebrows. I know some states off

Scratch-offs by the pack
Ok. Before I go with my reply, I want to ask something. Is that thing with the squares and the daily number digits legal? Anyway, when I worked a terminal, I had a few customers who would buy books of tickets. Back then all were $300, but not the $10 and up games are $600. I remember this. For every $300 book, the person would win back about $115. I had one customer who would have us order 3 books of Grand-A-Day Holiday each week because the website said there was one top prize winner left. A

Is this legal? Part 2
I wouldn't buy at a store that does that. Most of the stores here don't allow scratching at the counter. When I'm next in line, I expect to be able to buy any product that they sell. Is it legal? Well, they won't be arrested and sent to jail if that's what you mean, JackpotWanna. But I'd purchase my tickets at a different store and let the offending store know why they've lost my business. I don't know if the lottery commission would be interested in knowing about this behavior or not.

How many tickets are issued per game in Florida??
Hello, yes there is a way to find out. Its kind of tricky but it's interesting. The FL Lottery has legal paperwork called Emergency Rules document . These emergency rules are a document that's submitted to Tallahassee when new game is created. The emergency rules document shows all of the legal information about the particular game including the different options for prizes, the symbols included in the game and all of the legal mumbo jumbo. To see an example go to Google and type in this:

Hi Skeptic, as far as I can tell there's quite a bit of legal mambo-jumbo....I'm more of a numbers person so unfortunately fade somewhat with the legalese. I do see the following: (12) Taxes. (a) Except as specifically described herein, all federal, state and/or local taxes or other fees on any prize or prize element shall be the sole responsibility of the prizewinner, regardless of whether a prizewinner avails himself/herself of the prize. ...seems like prize-wise they are ho

Is it possible/legal to get a kickback from retailers?
@grwurston One could argue that they could take their business elsewhere. I doubt anyone would go for this though, unless you're a hardcore gambler that's going to buy thousands of dollars worth a day or something. Who would want to risk losing that income? Better than a store full of unsold scratchers. As for legality, no idea. Anything is legal if you don't get caught, so there's that. lol. Obviously tread with caution, because if it is illegal and the owner wants to turn you i

And this issue also exists on a greater level, through racial bias as well. I don't want to start a political conversation l, but just imagine if you or Adam were people of color. They gave you both a hard time, but people of color sometimes have to deal with more extreme cases. There's research that shows how prevalent racial profiling is Some personal anecdotes from someone who is biracial... I've been stopped, and even held at gun point before by police for simply living

Well... I dont even know where to begin, but I am NOT happy with the State of Florida, or more specifically the Charlotte County Sheriffs Department. On Saturday morning, The wife and I got in the car to take the drive to AK Kwik. Crossed over the river and into Chatlotte County on I75 at 8am. Got pulled over during a random rolling check point ... Officer asked me if I had any weapons/drugs in the car, which I politely said No to. When I went to give him my Insurance and Registration, he saw th
