"Peeking" is scanning unsold cards to determine winners
Spincognito: So Massachusetts doesn't have any self-ticket checkers (i.e. player scans to see if winner)? I'm not thoroughly familiar with their lottery. You also say, Clerks cannot scan more than one losing ticket or the system will not allow them to scan another ticket without scratching the complete void code. There is no way for them to scan a whole book of tickets to determine winners and losers. If I'm understanding correctly, all they would have to do is scan one ticket, if lose

How to calculate odds
Totally excellent explanation! My suggestion would be to play games that have been out for a while yet still have many of the jackpot tickets available. If a game that offers say 10 $1million dollar prizes has been out for 6 months and only two or three of those top prizes are gone, I am playing that game. When the man scratched off the $10 ticket, he said he screamed, jumped up and down and smiled. This will put me where I need to be, he told Greenville Online. He told officials at the South Carolina Educational Lottery he used to work in c

Florida $3 Million Winner Now Wins $10 Million BDB Scratch Ticket
HI James, I am a newbie here and am getting caught up on past posts. I have always wondered about this. Does the lotto know which rolls contain the winning tickets and where they are in their release stage(s)? If it is truly random (other than the control over printing a certain amount of winners on a single roll) why is it that certain towns sell more big winners than other towns? For example, the top five selling towns in Massachusetts are: Boston (which makes sense given it's volum

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
So jackpotchasing's post made me want to look up something indirectly related, and in that I found something that I believe people here may find interesting so I wanted to post it. (This is not related to his post though). From an article: Actually, the odds were better than that. Scratch-off prizes are not randomly distributed. Lotteries use a system of pools to create a fairly even distribution of prizes, as described in Indiana and Massachusetts reports. Most lotteries want pri
