Washington Lottery to begin accepting debit card payments
We recognize the world is evolving into a cashless society, the Washington Lottery said on their website. Many players carry little to no cash on a regular basis. I don't know if state lotteries that take debit/credit cards use that info or if a vending machine company track snack buying habits of the people using their product. I didn't write the article, just commented that some of the lottery Kiosks here have a debit/credit card option as doing many other types of vending machines.

$1.3 billion Mega Millions lottery winner's family sues him for not sharing jackpot
Artist makes some really good points above. Brock Lee also made an interesting point he split the prize with a gf who isn't his baby mama . Db101 added further clarification the most plausible explanation is that they went halvsies (with gf) on purchasing some tickets for that drawing. Lotteries split prizes among members of lottery pools all the time, whether it's a pool of 2 or 20 .. That gf's existence is irrelevant to the story here My take is unless plaintiffs can prove John Doe did not hav

Winner of $95 million Lotto Texas lottery jackpot gamed the odds to win
I read the article while on my way to the store to buy my $3 Powerball ticket for Mondays draw. I almost made a U turn back home then I thought, I am the 8% and I still have a chance, so still got my ticket. Now if you are in an office pool and your total budget is $50, take heart we are in this together

$1.08 billion Powerball lottery winner Yanira Alvarez filed claim for jackpot over five months ago
Very well written article. Could one imagine being before the Judge facing felony charges for attempting to falsify a winning ticket? I'm slightly confused, maybe too early, IDK. If this the same store where that lady was in that store exclaiming she was the Powerball winner? Then she drove off in her BMW!

North Carolina woman collapses on live TV after becoming first Powerball millionaire of the year
That would actually be sound financial advice, and it sounds like that's exactly what she wants. From the article: I would love to have my own home that is mine and that I feel safe in, Bradshaw told the Lottery. I can have my own house and fix it up pretty and clean and feel safe. Not anything fancy or big, just a little cottage or something with one or two bedrooms.

Powerball Powerplay 10X
Don't look here at The Lottery Post if you see an article about someone winning 5 times with one ticket! I aint sayin' nuthin to nobody should it actually happen and that includes posting here about it! I'm located in Florida, so I might be able to invoke Florida Statute 24.1051 which allows players of prizes of $250,000 or more to claim anonymously for 90 days. Thanks for you well wishes.... good luck to you too. G5

California man asks clerk to choose a lottery game for him, ends up picking out a ticket worth $10M
My eyes were scanning the article looking for just that, lol. We just got the feel good story and how the universe conspired to get him a winner, but what is important is the giving back - I would have taken the 5M and told the cashier, here's 800K for you, but the taxes are on you as well. I hope the winner did not give the cashier $100.

$1.725 BILLION: Powerball jackpot now 2nd-largest of all time
Very interesting article about Powerball on cnn website today. Forgot all about Lotto America's rules, the interesting part was capped off @ $80 million. Ticket was $1 and no Powerball to deal with and much, much better odds. Thinking about the cap off, if nobody won then it stayed the same???? After being stationed @ Walter Reed in DC and stationed up the road @ Ft. Meade, MD, my old civilian supervisor would mail me Lotto America tickets and one time just before leaving for Germany won $14
