Ohio plans new video lottery game this summer
The director of the Ohio Lottery says he still plans to start a new video lottery game in July despite a delay in awarding a contract to a company that will provide the equipment to bars and restaurants. A state panel today postponed voting on a contract proposal from Atlanta-based Intralot but likely will approve it in two weeks. Members of the state Controlling Board say they will await the outcome of an appeal filed by the losing company. The Ohio Lottery Commission hears the appeal by

Raffle Idea
What the proposal is talking about is a $6,000,000 payout. Just to cover the payout costs would entail printing and selling an additional 600,000 game tickets. If the raffle operator wanted to keep the payout percentage to the usual 50%, double that. Most raffle offerings simply aren't that large in order to enable the sale of all availablle raffle tickets in the shortest time possible.

Indiana governor drops lottery privatization
Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels said today he won't make a renewed pitch in the upcoming legislative session for his proposal to privatize the Hoosier Lottery, saying lawmakers will be too busy considering property tax reforms. During the last session, Daniels proposed leasing the lottery to a private operator and said one company was willing to pay $1 billion plus $200 million in annual payments for the 30-year lease. The money it generated would have gone toward a life sciences fund and a

Calif. Gov: Sell lottery to fund health care
Todd nailed it right on the head. While this concept may have promise on other states, the chance of it ever happening, or working the way AHHHnuld says it would range from slim to none. First - the teachers unions OWN the CA legislature. It takes a 2/3 majority to amend the Constitution - and this proposal effectively caps $$$ to education to generate more $$$ for health care. The teachers will never stand for it (unless someone GUARANTEES them a lot of ther $$$ form somewhere e

Alabama Lottery Proposal
you need to e-mail this proposal to a couple of influential Senators from Alabama. Maybe it just might catch their eye... nice job...!

tax strategy
Well, it looks like someone way south of you just came into $44.5M so you might be in luck. Of course, the winner could be a trucker who was passing through the area and just decided to buy a QP on a whim just because the Texas Lotto was nearly as large as the Mega game...happy searching for someone with huge lottery loot to go along with your proposal.

New Tenn. congressman wants national lottery
(Off topic rant alert) While I'd rather not turn this into a political debate on this forum, I feel I should point that this is actually a very bad proposal. It would simply replace one nightmare with another. Creating a 23% sales tax will be more expensive than what exists today when you actually do the math yourself (and that doesn't count state). Rather than focusing on creating a new tax, the emphasis needs to be on reduction and outright elimination of the current income tax, without cr

states with computerized drawings
I'm totally against such a proposal. Last thing we need is another federal agency. Best way to protest such things is with your dollar. Don't spend it and tell them why. If they don't listen, they're fools. Of course, demanding the Indiana government take action against the responsible parties would be best course, but let's face it, that's not gonna happen.

$1 Million Lottery Winner Used $8 From Previous Win
I don't see where there is an incentive for MegaMillions to change, let alone pay attention to the poll. People line up around the block to play The Big Game and changing it to add a megeplier won't bring in more then a handfull of people; relatively speaking. If they loose the California income, maybe they'll see a significant drop in player and evaluate a proposal. Until then, it wouldn't be a good business decision.

Love or Money ??
What you're offering here is some kind of pact with the Lotto-Devil where instead of selling one's sole one selects not to have kids or solid relations ...In today's society there are many who constantly fail at relationships thus having no offspring without having won $400M or any large sum of money ... and conversely I bet there are many who have retained good rapport with their spouses and kids even after winning large sums in jackpots ...Your 'proposal' is neither funny nor sensible ... it'
