Iowa lottery lawsuit granted class action, affecting 7.2 million tickets in 19 states
By Jason Clayworth A judge has granted class-action status in a lawsuit that claims people who purchased at least 7.2 million lottery tickets in 19 states were scammed by a former national lottery IT director who worked in Iowa. Eddie Tipton, the former IT director for the Multi-State Lottery Association in Urbandale, added a secret code to random number-generating computer software in 2005 that allowed him to narrow the drawing's winning odds from as great as 5 million to 1 down to 200 to

N.C. legislators look to expand lottery
I live in NC and tell you this is about the WORST lottery I have ever seen, misappropriation of educations funds is rampant and they always want more, more, more. --- More ads would generate about $155 million more in lottery sales, according to the lottery and Senate plans, and would return $31.5 million more to education efforts. -- DOUBT IT and I plan to introduce a petition for change of how this money is allocated. Currently, it is the Governor's Piggy bank and I am tired of see

Lotteries hit record profits last year
Lottery sales are strong, but there are points of weakness By Todd Northrop Government-sponsored lotteries are continuing their broad expansion as income-producing entities, as many lotteries reported record profits in the last fiscal year. Reports of record profits from the lotteries come despite continuing high unemployment and an economy that has been flat or downward-trending for the past two years. Iowa Lottery CEO Terry Rich says he believes the lottery does well in a bad econo

Is the Millionaire Raffle ADM Hacker Proof?
Not lotto, but video Keno and Poker When I worked in downtown Vegas a co-worker and I used to walk through the Horshoe after work. We were on swing and got off at 2:00 or 4:00 a.m. so got to know some of the graveyard shift people at the'Shoe. One night (2:00 a.m.) as we were walking through there one of the slot techs had some kind of gizmo hooked up to a bank of video Keno machines and we asked him what he was doing. He told us since everything had gone to the chip (computerized) ther

Drive to boost Calif. lottery sales under way
Revenue-building campaign needed as governor's bond proposal gains footing The California state lottery is switching its advertising pitch on nearly two dozen billboards throughout the state, a modest attempt to boost ticket sales. But the sales campaign will have to get much more aggressive if the lottery is going to pay off Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's $15 billion bond plan to help cover a huge state budget deficit. Instead of showing life-changing jackpots that can exceed $100 milli

**NCEL - North Carolina Lottery Rigging**
Just heard a news story where NCEL's 2021 DAILY sales were 10.4 MILLION !!! Too bad they did not say how little they pay out in average daily prizes.....they don't want you to know. Even if they did say, not sure I would believe it. Sure they have staff, cars and machines, but how many other NC only companies do you know of that rake in an average 300+ Mill A MONTH or approx 30 BILLION a year!!!...Meanwhile, they gloat about having given a whopping 9 billion to education in the past 15 years....

North Carolina Lottery celebrates 15th anniversary
I don't believe for a minute that they pay out .95 on every $ in prizes and the money now days goes in the general fund earmarked for education (yeah right). Anyone that plays NC knows they are as crooked as the pandemic has been long. We did not have trips for a FULL YEAR! Then they started red ball last month for a second rigged (pre-recorded) drawing and dropped 3 trips in one month and we had trip 1's 3x in 3 weeks. Meanwhile, we have not had trip 9's in 4 YEARS (March 1, 2017). Wish w
