What in your opinion would be some of the best charities to give to if and when you win a jackpot
henny I started to mention them in my other post Everytime I drop something in that Red Kettle I look them in the eye and tell them.......I am giving this because I trust your charity. And Thank You I like them mainly for all the reasons you mentioned above. I quit giving to some other well known Charities , quite a few years ago , when I found out how much the ones that run the charity makes , and also when I see them drive around in high priced vehicles and eat at some

Canadian lottery winner donates $40 million jackpot to charity
Just because he's going to set up a Trust doesn't mean there is anything sinister going on. That's the way to do it if you're doing charity/philanthropy.(rather than just giving out cash/gifts yourself) And including his kids, who can be involved with and learn about charity/philanthropy, becoming trustees, assigning funds to beneficiaries, that's a great thing for a dad to do.

Canadian lottery winner donates $40 million jackpot to charity
Good info. I need to add this to my future charity plans if I win big. I planned to check out the the charities but forgot about the BOD salaries. Also, for those of you who plan to donate to an animal charity, a lot of the big national ones like PETA and the Humane Society are ripoffs and often care little about the animals. Donate to your local no kill rescue group or no-kill shelter.

Florida Woman's lotto legacy lives on after 25 years>>

Nice that you feel so comfortable being condescending toward others, but your wrong again as their are many more in this world (not like you) than 1 in 175.000.000 who would give ALL their winning to charity. Might YOU be one of those who would give ALL their winnings to charity?

A very generous individual could donate ALL their winnings to charity and actually get a refund back from the IRS...I think it's safe to say it won't be happening anytime soon. By all means Jill, please explain to us (little people) how giving to a charity entitles the giver to a refund?

If a person decided to give the entire amount to charity the tax bill would be exactly ZERO.

With 10% I will set up my charity foundation. That's how you tithe to the Divine.
